he won't choose celtic over us obi.. plus celtic won't really offer him a large enough amount of money to make the decision easy for him. im worried about this one. not the player we need. hopefully it's B/S

But if that's the case just bring Pongo back!

He'll probably end up going to Celtic anyways. More first team chances and all that.

Don't you think that Pongo might be tempted to stay at Recre?

    No. Razz

I doubt we'd offer him more than Celtic CotR. We're still pretty prudent when it comes to finances. Also, he's probably aware he'll get more games at Celtic (and walk the league).

Hopefully it'll just vanish after a few days like the Klansnic link. I prefer the Eto'o/Dos Santos links myself Smile

I don't think we'll get both to be honest. I said the other day though; if you sold him, I could see us breaking the bank in an attempt to get Eto'o. Far more realistic than us trying to get 'Dinho if you sold him.

Dos Santos I'm not sure about. Most reports are saying he almost moved to Lyon in January but I have no idea how true that is. The problem is, he's not going to get a first team place here immediately either because he's totally untested and just about every youngster Rafa's bought has spent a season with the reserves. He'd probably prefer to do that at Barca.

The only thing I could see that would tempt him would be the fact that he wouldn't have to displace someone of the quality of 'Dinho or Messi to get a first team spot here. Still, I think it's a non-starter.

Dos Santos needs to be patient.. he is good for the b-team but there is a world of difference to play in the first team whether it is in England, Spain or France.. I am sure he will stay and maybe late this season he will get a few minutes and then he can take over Ezquerro's role next season..

Getafe = Pool: Good at home, nothing special playing away, will get a sniff of European football but will never win the league, but I guess that Getafe plays nicer football despite not having a famous coach Wink

    ok

the Dutchess of York is likely to fancy him as the long term replacement for Veron/Giggs Ronaldo, possibly even with the latter moving in a swap. Then there's Chelsea and the Italian giants to contend with.

but if he "almost" joined Lyon then surely his mind is "almost" made up that he's leaving. The summer's only going to mean another big name ahead of him pushing him down the pecking order so as you say it's far more likely he'll fancy his chances of replacing Kewell/Pennant than Ronaldinho or Messi ok

Voronin's agent is now saying we've signed him on a 4 year deal. Oh well, he's got my backing, but I pray there's another quality striker coming in aswell.

Maybe not, now that Rijkaard has said he's staying. And if one of them leaves, it's very very likely that it will be Ronaldinho, and it's very very likely that he'll go to Milan. Anything other combination has probably less than a 10% chance of happening.

    Voronin set for Reds switch
Bayern Leverkusen striker Andrei Voronin has reportedly clinched a deal to join Liverpool in the summer.

The Ukrainian international is out of contract at the end of the season and has reached a agreement that will see him join The Reds on a four-year contract in June.

Voronin had been linked with a move to Celtic in December but will now join Craig Bellamy, Peter Crouch, Robbie Fowler and Dirk Kuyt in Rafa Benitez's plans at Anfield.

The 27-year-old has bagged six goals in 20 league appearances for the German club this season and, following Bayer's 1-0 defeat to Hannover on Saturday, it was announced that the striker will pursue a career in England come the end of the season.

Voronin is keen to widen his experiences after spending a decade in Germany since joining Borussia Dortmund as an 18-year-old from his native Ukraine.

"I have been in Germany for ten years now, that is a long time," said Voronin in Kicker. "I want to see something else."

Voronin's prospective arrival could provoke fresh doubts over Fowler's future at Anfield, as the Reds hero also sees his contract expire at the end of the season.

I just watched us pummel Chelsea in the youth cup again, and I have to say, our youth side is looking very decent. You've still got my Liverpoolfc.tv details I think Obispo - Go check it out if you haven't already.

Oh, and who the fack is Voronin? If we have all the money in the world, why don't we sign someone people have actually heard of !

I think he's been injured a lot this season, and he's too old to play in the FA youth cup now.

The best in Ukraine? Isn't that where Sheva is from?

Anyway, would be disappointed if we signed voronin, looking at the stats on sky he's nothing special - But i've never seen him play, so i can't judge.

    Looks pretty official.

Shouldn't get on Voronin's back before he joins. 6 goals and 6 assists this season and he's not a regular starter, so similar to Bellamy in that respect but not a complete cunt to boot.

I don't think he'll be the only striker we sign anyways. Fowler's definitely off and I imagine one of Crouch/Bellamy are too. The major disappointment for me is that this seems to signal the end of Pongolle Sad I will be seriously pissed off if that's the case.

Anyways, just 'cos we have all the money in the world, doesn't mean we shouldn't go for the occasional bargain. There's no risk involved with this signing and hopefully it'll mean that Bellamy can fuck off.

Lulu isn't going to be happy with that lol! The only one of our strikers I really rate at the moment is Kuyt, and he's not been in world beating form.
