The other spelling of come rai Wink

The only thing im gutted about with the so called 'fight' is that it will be all the press will talk about in the run up to the game now. the fact that the two main trash papers today had entirely different versions of events and culprits proves that most of this is B/S and operating through word of mouth and rumours. could end up in as a lovely law suit for the NOTW to lose some more money

who/what would you prefer started Rai, crouch, bellamy or 4-5-1?

    Yes.

The back four is a certainty

    finnan...carra...agger...riise

momo, gerrard and xabi are then also certainties so that just leaves the shape to see who else plays. I think he'll go 4-4-2 with gerrard as a right winger and auerlio left but he may play gerrard left and pennant right. if it's 4-5-1 then all five will play with gerrard having a free role behind kuyt. this is the formation I really really really don't want to see us playing as it will just be siege on our goals. so im hoping it's

    gerrard...momo...alonso..auerlio

    ..........kuyt........bellamy

there is enough power and workrate in this midfield to disrupt xavi and co as well as the correct defensive capabilities. however with auerlio and momo we will lose a bit going forward which is why id pick bellamy over crouch. in a game where our midfield will be stretched bellamy provides more options for xabi and gerrard rather than the hoof to crouch. I can't see crouch getting much joy at all in the nou camp.

Crouch can do wonders as a sub .. just push Barca back.

The back four you has stated, is IMO Liverpool's best

Agger will relish being at the Nou Camp

Is Auerlio preferred only because he and Riise compliment each other so well?

    he is preferred because of

    A) his la liga knowledge which shades his selection over pennant for me. the other options are zenden Evil or Very Mad or gonzalez.

    B) his set pieces ie anything to stop gerrard wasting them

    C) his defensive abilities to stop guily or messi

Id be happy to see him there. Riise and auerlio will surely provide enough of a threat down that wing as well as keeping secure which will leave gerrard and finnan to cope with ronny on the other side

    We'll see

I just want us to be more clinical in front of goal - be it Bellamy or any other striker..... not too much to ask is it.

If only we were - we'd be top of the league by now - and we wouldnt have this "United play the best football in the league" bullshit

We easily play the best football in the league - the amount of chances we create per game is scary - if only we were more clinical - we would easily score 3+ per game

PS: Bellamy's not a bad player in Pro Evo though Smile

Y'reckon? I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Rafa try something different just to throw Barca completely.

    I want to see:

    - - - - - - - - - Reina
    - Arbeloa - Carragher - Agger
    Finnan - Alonso - Sissoko - Aurelio
    - - Gerrard - - - - - Gonzalez
    - - - - - - - - Crouch

Could switch back to 4-4-1-1 if needed with Gerrard in the hole. Oh well.

It won't matter, Rijkaard isn't a tactical manager like Mourinho or Benitez who will make the team adapt to different situations. We will come out and play the same way we always do, so basically you just have to pick the formation that will help you the most to achieve your aim of getting a draw. No chess involved here.

The most important thing, as far as I see it - aside from not being out of the game come the 2nd leg, obviously - is getting an away goal. I think we'd be lucky to keep you to one clean-sheet. Two is pushing it.

I'm fairly certain Barca will score at Anfield actually. Fortunately, we'll be 4-1 up from the first leg so the 1-1 draw at Anfield won't be too disasterous Cool

Like Luis, all I can do is refer you to read Reina and/or Kuyt's recent comments in the buildup to the match. Especially Kuyt, if you want an explicit statement of your squad's approach. They're in the thread on the Cups board.

I know that you are not going to play attacking football at Camp Nou but it still doesn't change the fact that i don't like your footballing style.. It is a question of taste and footballing traditions, but that doesn't make your style bad or worse than ours..

Well you'll forgive me for not being particularly keen on your current style of "set piece" football. Set pieces you usually gain from dives. Far uglier than playing it direct occasionally if you ask me.
