barca are in for a very frustrating match tonight me thinks.

we score quite often from set pieces. Doh

u can't defend them though, probably worse than us.

Anyone want to bet that nigh on the entirity of the Sky build up will revolve around Gerrard on the right? Gray & Co backing up their "play him in the centre" case by showing the... ooph... 3-4 goals he's managed from that position this season Doh

Brazilian World Cup winner Edmilson has launched a scathing attack on Steven Gerrard – claiming the Liverpool captain is wasting his career at Anfield and should move clubs soon.

Edmilson's Barcelona side take on Liverpool at the Camp Nou on Wednesday night in the Champions League second round, with the 30-year-old midfielder set to go head-to-head with Englishman Gerrard.

And he has claimed that a player of Gerrard's quality should not be wilting away in a sub-standard team, especially with the likes of Juventus linked with a move for him.

Edmilson said: "Steven Gerrard is a great player, a true worker with a lot of spirit and technique and one of the most complete players around. He is the face of Liverpool, the club's identity.

"But you should know what - I think he should think about a new experience, otherwise, when you stop playing football you might think 'what have I done? What have I accomplished'?

"You will see that you spent your whole life in the same place and wasted one hell of an opportunity to do new things and win titles."

    Hahahaha.

Indeed. It's just a pity he didn't bother to do some research on gerrard before opening his idiotic mouth

I'm not surprised at all. Edmilson has always been a little bit crazy. He is similar to Lucio, they can't control their nerves.

Liverpool can't win the league title for ages so he thinks they aren't a big club like Chelsea. I'm sure he also thinks that Lyon is bigger than Liverpool.

    @marafado

If that is the team, Oleguer should consider himself unlucky to miss out. He's been more than competent at RB. I think Zambo's game suffers a little on the right as well.

Yes, but I think it will be a close game. Barca's chances are much better if they start with Messi.

Good knows. Hopefully 5-3-2. It's what we've done best with away from home.

It could just as easily be Bellamy or Kuyt on the left though with Gerrard in the hole.

With that line-up it looks like 5-3-2 will be the desired formation, however we shall have to be careful that our full backs don't get caught out of position on counters, otherwise Ronnie and Messi could have a field day.

    Relaxed.

I've had the mood swings of a pregnant woman the last few days. I've gone from thinking we'll go there and overrun them in the opening 20 to thinking we're going to lose 4 or 5 nil.

Now I'm just calm and want it to start.

Haha....a German moderator just said (asking Effenberg): "Why is Peter Crouch not playing tonight? 4 Goals in the CL so far, like a very thin version of Horst Hrubesch."

    Classic. Laugh

Hrubesch was pure class, so that comparison should flatter Crouchinho.
