FFS Diarra had him in his back-pocket even when he tried to knock the ball past him and chase after it.

    1. He's not a consistent crosser, like a certain C.Ronaldo 2-3 seasons ago.

    2. He's hardly knock-and-run (like when Jenas RAPED Ca$hley at one point) the ball stays very close to his feet. That is a good enough skill for me. He does try flicks and backheels etc. reguarly, but it just didn't come off. Diarra pocketed him?!?! They doubled (sometimes tripled) up on him anytime he got the ball - and he beat Diarra at least 3 times.

What does this make Joaquin, I wonder? Erm

    Inconsistent Wink

Lennon does have the ability to be a good player, but once his pace goes he will be finished. He will not be like a Figo - or dare I say it - C. Ronaldo.

Re double-teaming. That's the point of having a defensive midfielder.

    And his agility.

For me its his agility more thanhis pace that makes him able to pass players and I'd argue that he'd still have this even if he lost his pace

    Exactly.

Lennon's top speed isn't all that. He's just got ridiculous acceleration, and close control with the ball & his body.

Lennon is faster than Ronaldo, and his top speed "Isn't all that"?

    Spuds vs Man Ure game...

Lennon chased CR and won the ball - decent race.

Ronaldo's the same - his top speed isn't actually that great - just the initial acceleration & ball control which sets him apart. Rosicky for instance is at least as quick as both, and barely anyone says he has lightning pace.

CR is quick, but yeah mostly due to his great acceleration.

James Morrison saw red for a wild lunge at Ronaldo in injury-time and Southgate feels the midfielder will learn from his mistake.

Southgate added: "He is a young kid and he will learn a lesson from that.

"We would all in that situation love to do what he did but you have got to be mature enough and hold your ground and make the right tackle."

    ------------------------------------------------------------

What kind of message is this sending out .. does Southgate hate players who can score from the penalty spot against his team? .. maybe when he saw Ronaldo celebrating images of Andreas Moller came flashing back.

When you see a cheating scumbag cunt stood infront of you..you'd quite like to fuck him up.

You however, must be mature enough not to do it..and not lower yourself to the level of said cheat.
