Southgate shouldnt have condoned Morrison's actions,

but to suggest Ronaldo isnt a diver is equally ridiculous. Whether he did V Boro is up for debate I cant be bothered to get into,

but he hits the deck a hell of a lot. Its quite obvious

its kinda irrelevant as to whether he dived last night, we all know that he has dived before and will dive again. Hes not a serial diver, i'd say J Cole dives more than him but he does dive. Like Henry...all of the Arsenal (well enarly all) admitted that Henry dives occasionally, why can't the Man utd fans admit that Ronaldo dives occasionally, regardless of whether its in a man utd shirt or a portugal shirt.

He has dived before including this season. I think the point I make (not sure about others) is that he has improved this season but he's carrying around a tag he's earned in the last couple of seasons.

He did not dive on Monday though, it was a clear penalty and if it was any other Man United player who won that penalty this wouldn't get nearly the same reaction.

Ronaldo does dive, he does it less for United than he does for Portugal (I guess Deco has that effect on his team mates) I will never claim he doesnt dive. The argument is that he didnt dive against Boro on Monday. Stevie FC has won more dubious penalties than Ronnie this season, so he is not quite in his league yet.

None of the others would have been good enough at diving to get that penalty.

I like to sit on the fence. Coop hasnt taken the loss all that well, but I dont agree with Rai either that Ronaldo doesnt sometimes "bend" the law. Most of the top players do it now unfortunately, including English ones.

Post by christmasborocooper Wed Mar 21, 2007 1:16 pm

ALEX FERGUSON launched a foul-mouthed attack on a TV reporter in a bust-up over Cristiano Ronaldo.

Manchester United’s boss called Sky’s Geoff Shreeves a ‘f*****g bastard’ and told him to ‘f**k off’.

Ferguson was furious with Shreeves for questioning his Portuguese wing wizard about allegedly cheating for his controversial penalty winner against Middlesbrough in Monday’s FA Cup clash.

The fiery Scot’s off-camera rant was so loud a BBC interview with Boro chief Gareth Southgate had to be abandoned.

Shreeves grilled Ronaldo about his latest ‘cheat’ storm in the tunnel after the quarter-final replay.

Beeb reporter Ivan Gaskell then tried to record Southgate’s verdict on the defeat for Match of the Day, only to have his work wind up on the cutting-room floor thanks to Ferguson.

Here is the full transcript of the blast at Shreeves from Fergie’s renowned ‘Hairdryer’.

    SHREEVES ... questions
    SHREEVES ... questions
    SHREEVES: “I asked him . . . ”

    FERGUSON: “F*****g (inaudible) bastard.”

S: “Don’t talk to me like that.”

    F: “F**k off to you.”

S: “Don’t talk to me like that. Don’t even think about it.”

F: “Don’t you think about it, you ****. F**k off. Right?”

S: “Listen, are you going to do the interview in a professional manner or not? Do you want to do it or not?”

F: “You f*****g be professional. You be professional. You’re the one.”

    S: “I’m entitled to ask . . . . Cristiano gave the right answer.”

F: “F*****g hell with your answers.”

S: “Don’t talk to me like that. Go away. If you want to behave civilly, fine. Don’t talk to me like that.”

    F: “F**k off.” (door slams).

    lol! what a tosser

I can understand Coop's position though, the FA cup was the only thing to play for so he's bound to be clutching at straws. I probably would too.

Ronaldo has dived before. The one against Boro wasn't a dive. The sending off was a clear sending off - no attempt to play the ball, just went in to kick him.

Brilliant against Boro (him and Giggs completely bossed the midfield). Against Bolton he was good as well but that result was mainly down to the front 4 of Giggs, Ronaldo, Rooney and Park.

Say - 8/9 vs Boro. 7/8 vs Bolton.
