Yea, I'd probably play him more central. Will be interesting to see who he will play though since Marchena is banned.

I don't know what to think. Both teams have wonderful players and both teams have no specific weakness.

Valencia have players like Joaquin,Vincente,Villa,Morientes,Baraja,Ayala,Del Horno ect ect...

    Chelsea:Drogba,Sheva,Makelel,Essien ect ect...

Imo that's THE game to watch.A shame our tv will show Milan vs bayern <Ale>

Arnaud, if you can receive German free TV and don't mind the kraut commentary, you can watch the Chelsea vs. Valencia match live on DSF.

In France there are two channel for CL.TF1 and canal+

    everyone can watch TF1 (Bayern-Milan)but you have to pay for canal+(£16 month)and canal+that's 1 channel.Only 1.

Me i have the cable(£16 month)and i have something like 300 channels BUT no canal+.So i have to watch this Milan-Bayern excepted if in some of the foreign channels i have they diffuse the CL(but i doubt about that)

    Understood <Ale>

    Drogba.

I'm gonna be confident and say 2-0. Drogba and Lampard.

Even 0-0 is an OK result imo.

You've never experienced a game in the Mestalla then mate, 0-0 or a away goal for Valencia ='s Chelsea out.

We're more than capable of getting a 1-1 draw there following a 0-0 home draw. Plus Inter Milan should've won their and didn't they get beat 2-0 at the Mestalla the other week?

Hmm, strange that Essien's been included in the match squad, considering he's supposedly injured.

    Squad:

    Goalkeepers: Cech, Cudicini, Hilario

Defenders: Ferreira, Geremi, Diarra, Terry, Carvalho, Bridge, Ashley Cole

Midfielders: Ballack, Makelele, Lampard, Essien, Wright-Phillips, Mikel, Joe Cole.

    Forwards: Drogba, Shevchenko, Kalou

Tough one to call SP. How do you see it going? Im not sure where my money is going tonight. Had a lovely fiver on gerrard to score first at 9/1 last night. it's hard to look past drogba and flump tonight though so ill probably stay clear.

P.S I hope you thrash them. Id much prefer to face your lot than valencia in the next round

Thanks cotr (I'm sure there's a compliment hidden in their somewhere Wink)

Personally, I think we'll win 1/2-0 tonight. I know many people are saying that it's gonna be very close, but come on, this is Stamford Bridge. The one I'm worrying about is the return leg next week, but if we have a 2-0 aggregate lead, I'll be pretty relaxed.

    nah mate there isn't. Wink

Valencia are more creative and will pose us greater problems which is why im saying this. Rafa knows that against chelsea all he really has to do is hope carra takes care of drogba and everything should be fine Smile

plus it'll probably be a better occasion if we play each other again. Mourinho will be going mad in the press (no doubt mentioning the garcia 'goal' a thousand times.)

however thats all in the future. Im looking forward to both games this evening. haven't a clue which one to choose to watch

    I think Chelsea will win 2 (Sheva & Fwank) - 1 (Villa/Vincente)

I expect Chelsea to go through, but without Robben, I dont think it will be a good game for neutrals.

Joe Cole may play some part though, so at least that won't make Robben's absence as bad as it initially looked.

    Enjoy spending the winnings. Wink

Two really mouthwatering ties tonight. Shame they are on at the same time. Still debating which one to watch.

With Chelsea's record at Stamford Bridge it is very hard to overlook Chelsea for me. Barcelona last season is the only time I remember a Chelsea loss in the CL. I am going for 2-1.

    ok

We lost away to Bremen in the match that 'didn't matter'

(Barca defeat is the only time we've lost at home under Jose (and played with 10 men for 62 minutes too Whistle Wink))

Chelsea dont lose at home and their style of football means they will definately score in Spain. No matter how badly they play, they get the results, it wont always be pretty, but they will go through.

Valencias cagey style of football will make it difficult for Chelsea, but I dont think they have enough quality to beat Chelsea.

I see a Chelsea v Liverpool semi final, which is bad news for the neutral.

I'm sure we'll do the same thing that we did against Barcelona at the Bridge: double up on their wingers. Lampard-Ashley Cole and whoever plays RCM (would've been Essien, but it looks like it may be Mikel) with Diarra. If it can work against Dinho and Messi, I see no reason why it can't work tonight.
