Appalling finishing from us cost the boys today, Pazzini was guilty on numerous occasions, even Palldino missed a great chance and Montolivo made a good test of the keeper from distance. The first half was very comfortable, it took Serbia half hour to even register a shot, and until their goal they rarely threatened, but after the break we relinquished the initiative and allowed Serbia to control more of the play and possession. Curci's injury is a massive loss for us, and Viviano is not up to his level.

A bad and unexpected start, even if Serbia have some great talents - Jankovic and Krasic , we have a fantastic squad too and a proud reputation in this competition to uphold.

I was happy enough with the team selection, indeed its the formation and personell i would have employed, and there was nothing wrong with our creativity, just wasted chances and the wrong finality in key moments, like Montolivo's wasted freekick in the area.

Not an ideal start, but i'm confident we can take 6 points from our last two fixtures if the finishing imroves, and qualify maybe behind Serbia, which could yield a tough semi clash against the Dutch.

No need to panic yet, it was a good creative performance, but a wasteful one in attack, hopefully we can improve there and we'll be fine.

Pirlo, Italy played very well. But couldnt finish the changes, but then again Serbia has a great team as well. This could definately be the final. But what a player Palladino has become if you compare him with last year U-21!

A good game lies ahead of us when you have to win against England, and im sure you will Ale

    Watched both matches.

Not impressed by Pierce's tactics, playing 4-3-3 puts a microscope on the individual ability of your players. Particularly the wide players of your front 3 and your fullbacks. I don't think England have enough skill in those areas to execute a 4-3-3 properly.

On to the second match, What a lot of wasted chances and opportunities. I suppose it is because they are young and the final decision making isn't fine tuned but a 3-1 score would not have been an injustice to Italy when you consider the 1 on 1's missed as well as good spaces/opportunities created by Rosina where he failed to apply the correct touch.

Alright, was tidy. almost got a good break on a 1 2 with Palladino to score. 1 notable cross that was too hard. I'd lke to see how he does starting because I don't think he is the kind of player who can be an impact sub.

After all the hype about Italian strikers it was quite funny watching them miss so many chances, they couldnt finish a chocolate bar Very Happy .

So will Pier C, realise his mistake and play boy wonder Rossi in the next game?

Lita's penalty was awful, he had a nose bleed as he ran up to take it (not quite as bad as Riquelme vs Arsenal), but not as awful as that guy who ran up to him when he missed and cheered in his face. I do hope someone injures him in the next game.

The tournament has been wonderful so far, so many goals, so much excitement. Lets hope people actually try scoring in the next round.

There is no hype about Pazzini and Palladino, both have shown enough promise in the last two seasons, they had a bad day in front of goal, nothing that can'tbe put right on the training pitch and with more psychological preparation and Casiraghi certainly shouldn't be rushing Rossi into the side as an emergency reaction. I would much rather he played Motta instead of Raggi though, and defensively his midfield is set up purely to attack with Nocerino anchoring.

We had a bad game in front of goal, but we should take 6 points from our last two fixtures and that will be enough to take us through

When you look at it again its clear he never should have took the penalty, He seem sto be hyperventilating or something, the run to the ball was very very VERY poor and then completely missed target.

However, who's the Czech c**t is that laughed in his face? Evil or Very Mad Extremely uncalled for.

    @Pirlo

I know the players are really good, it was just a cheap wind up for Bluenine. After all the earlier talk about how many good strikers Italy had and how they were the favourites, I couldnt resist.

As a united and Rossi fan, I am biased towards Rossi, so I will always say he should play. However he has scored 9 goals in half a season for a relegation candidate. I dont think any of the other strikers in the squad have a record as good as him. Also after watching his replacements miss so many easy chances, I do think he should start the next game.

Yeah there was no need for such an uncouth action. It 's not like he dived to win the penalty or they had a previous encounter.
