Actually he was moaning about the 2-3 elbows he received during the match. If you notice, Jose was up in arms about it.

Nice to see Rio moaning at his goalkeeper after his marker gets the better of him.

Ridiculous isn't it! One thing I didn't notice at the game but have now, did we ever have more than two men defending at one time? We never had all four defenders at the back at the same time. It's painful seeing so many chances go begging.

Eboue was ok. He gives us some much needed width and gets in behind fullbacks. His concentration is poor though. There were quite a few times where he just wasn't paying enough attention and stopped running to get to a pass or wasn't ready for a pass. He also didn't get back to defend quickly enough which occasionally made us vulnerable on the break. Better than most of the team though.

I know you have an agenda against Rio, but thats ridiculous.

I don't have an agenda against Rio at all. If you read my posts, you'll see that I've often called him one of the best defenders around. However, his lapses in concentration are often swept under the carpet. When the shot came in, Taylor was actually behind Rio, yet managed to get in front of him. I thought Rio was meant to be quick and alert? Hansen and Lawro blaming it on VDS and yeah, he should have saved it, but if Rio had been alert, he'd have cleared the danger. After the goal went in Rio started ranting to whom I think was VDS.

Second goal is simple: if Rio looks up, he makes an accurate pass, and you probably don't get beat. Again, Hansen and Lawro are blaming VDS for something that this time, wasn't even his fault.

If you think I have an agenda, you should look at nearly every single poster on this board and there whole "Frank Lampard ruins England even against sides like Israel, despite only being 1 player". That's an agenda mate. <Ale>

You always pick up on mistakes he may make though, and still can't seem to get over he was much better than Terry at the World Cup.

VDS is being blamed because he was at fault for both goals. Especially the second.

Why would a keeper run out when Rio is in control of the ball? He's been great at times this season VDS, however today he was a huge reason why we lost (one great save aside).

As for the first goal he was blaming Richardson if you watch it properly.

What do you make of the reported interest in Alves?

Sevilla are also reportedly interest in taking Reyes back to his home club. Maybe something could happen.

I've seen less of Alves than a lot of people here so I can't really comment on how good he is. I'm not necessarily sure that he is the type of player we need or if he is suited to the Premiership. He looks like he has plenty of the attributes that we usually look for in a player though. He seems to be attracting a lot of attention as well, so surely a bigger club than us would offer more money for him than we can.

I have no idea what our transfer policy will be in the summer, and frankly I'm not expecting much. In today's programme Wenger says that he doesn't envisage many changes to the squad this summer.

I said he was better. Much better?... come on. Terry's 'mistakes' in the World Cup were no worse than the 2 made by Rio today.

For the second his positioning may seem suspect but he's clearly moved over, imo, to receive an easier pass from Rio (who's got his back to goal). If Rio looks up, the goal never happens. Imo, it's just an excuse used by Hansen and Lawro to shift the blame from Rio.

OK, so he balmes Richardson for the 1st goal. Fair enough, Richardson was largely responsible. But Rio should never let Taylor get goal side of him, even if he doesn't think VDS will fail to clear it properly.

At times atleast 2 of our defenders joined the attack but i also counted at times 4 defenders defending 1 attacker.

Good job of damage Limitation ok.

I'm sure Paul Robinson would've recieved a firm kick up his (portly) backside if his name was Jerzy Dudek. That must be something like a dozen "speculative" long-rangers he's conceded. Otherwise we put in a very good away performance - Petr Cech is a monster.

Ferguson can moan about our poor schedule - but an evening game might've been too dodgy for security. United couldn't respond to the pressure, quite simply. Can't moan as they really haven't had to play after Chelsea in the run in. Edwin Van Der Sar is Over-rated. He fucked up for Juventus - and he's about to do the same for Man Utd. Choker.

Are Arsenal just going through the motions now? Tip us to do them next weekend. Bobby Zamora acheived the impossible of making a lob look ugly - only he couuld pull that off. Offside goal too Razz. Well done to the Hammers regardless.
