Almost complete Chelsea domination with Liverpool unable to string more than two passes together and their midfield gone AWOL..

Cheers, I will watch the last 30 minutes, just in time for Stevie G to score from 30 yards or Drogba to seal the tie or if I am really lucky, for the mass brawl at the end as well.

Only striker around to be fair, but having a great season.

For all that Agger hype he did f@ck all against Drogba, so much for Carragher having him in his back pocket etc etc Laugh

Arbeloa has been shocking, in the first half, hes made a few poor passes but more importantly hes time after time failed to track back and has left so much space to exploit.

The ploy to attack down the left makes sense, however Zenden is quite clearly not good enough to truely exploit this weakness, and with zero width on the right, things don't look good !

Hope the second half gives me something to shout about.

Arbeloa has 5 yards on J cole, from the moment the ball was in your half, yet Joe Cole taps it in!

Btw, thanks for that 2.5M for Arbeloa Wink

Its obviously not working for Pool, they are playing right into chelsea's plans....

liverpool need crouch for bellamy. That will rattle chelsea a bit. Long crosses for Crouch to put a head to...

Chelsea in control of this match...I don't think Liverpool will be too disappointed though, because if they can keep it at 1-0 they'll be confident of turning it around at Anfield.

Chelsea really need to get a 2nd goal (else I'm f@cked in Bluenine's EB Cup predictions competition!)

Yeah but Liverpool equalising looks unlikely.

Does Drogba suffer at least 2-3 knocks every single match? Why doesn't Mourinho take him off rather than force him to keep playing, risking an even more serious injury.

Brilliant tactical battle as we'd expect from these two managers:

Benitez brings on Pennant to give Liverpool some fresh ideas, and Mourinho responds with Wright-Phillips.

Final score 1-0. Again the pre-match verbal exchanges are more exciting than the match itself. Rather dull overall.

They deliberately shut down to keep it at 1-0, esp. in the 2nd half. Though Rafa looked angry on the touchline and made some attacking substitutions, deep down I don't think he really minds this one bit.

Mourinho will be confident too, because Chelsea are equally good at playing anti-football when they have to in the 2nd leg. Liverpool will go after a goal, and at one point Chelsea are sure to counter attack with either a long ball to Drogba or a good piece of play by Joe Cole and get the crucial away goal.

Well if Ricky was watching, at least he can't possibly comment on Liverpool's style of football, when Chelsea's long balls all game were on display.

I was more dissapointed with Chelsea's style of football, than our obvious lack of penetration (solely due to the lack of quality we have out wide and upfront)

When a club has spent hundreds of millions over the course of recent seasons, you'd expect them to play better football than Joe Kinnear's crazy gang at Wimbledon.

I don't think their "shut down" was very convincing.. Chelsea had quite a lot of big chances to get the second and third goal.

I was very disappointed by Mascherano to be honest (after all the recent praise). I thought he looked like an unispired version of Motta. Less passing ability and not very good at catching the attacks early on. I guess he just had an off night.
