Fuck Hargreaves. I just hope we get over £20 million for him then the disloyal prick can go to a team full of disloyal pricks.

I don't think you can be too harsh on Hargreaves. He hasn't exactly handled himself brilliantly, but this is basically the only time he will get a high-profile move in England. If he stays in Germany it's back to the doldrums as far as the press here is concerned.

He has to basically see this as an escape route from a No Media Zone.

    Sad, but ultimately true.

I agree. Bayern fans can call him disloyal- the fact is whatever they think, the EPL, for an English International like Hargreaves, is far far more of lure than staying in the Bundesliga, where he has already won everything anyway.

He's given 9 years of service to Bayern since signing for them at a young age, he obviously wants the challenge of going to a massive club like United. United wont be back for him if it doesnt go through now, so the guy is itching to take his chance...

It makes sense, its not like he's moving for money or to a club which is definitely going to win things-

Hargreaves is clearly a character who likes a challenge, look at the way he has pulled his sleeves up and set out to prove the england boo boys wrong instead of whining about it, and look how he plays.. its in his nature.

I dont think he is doing anything wrong by requesting to leave- he isnt a munich boy through and through, so he has ambition outside of the city surely..

According to German media reports Bayern Munich have imposed a disciplinary punishment against Hargreaves, he has to pay 25.000 Euro for now.
Also Uli Hoeneß is pretty angry with him, he said Hargreaves would prostitute himself to ManU (hope that translation is correct Wink )...

That's fair enough, but he is 25 years of age. If he had any loyalty to Bayern he would realise that with Ballack and Ze Roberto now gone, they cannot afford to lose another midfielder having not signed one. Especially at this stage of the season.

He can remain in the English press good books by playing well for England and playing well for Bayern in the league and the CL. He should wait until the summer, then we can replace him and at 26 he will get his chance to go to the EPL.

It's not like he can use the excuse of wanting to test himself for a big team, he already has that chance and his England position is not under threat at all.

If he's going to be a disloyal twat then he can f-off as far as I am concerned. I'd rather not have someone like that in our team.

I think part of the problem is that this could be his last chance to move to one of the big 4 clubs.

    Arsenal can't afford him.

Chelsea and Liverpool don't need him anytime soon with Essien for Chelsea and Sissoko for Liverpool.

However we have a gaping hole but if we don't get Hargreaves we will sign someone else and won't be back next season for him.

Not at all saying thats why Bayern should sign him, thats there own business.

However I can see why Hargreaves wants the move NOW.

There is plenty of threat to his position namely Michael Carrick who will be pressing for that position if he can prove he can play with Scholes, then you have scott Parker who i'm sure will get a chance, the press won't remember his world cup forever one average performace for England and they will be calling for his head.

The (well informed) chief editor of Holland's most important football magazine just claimed that Bayern is having negotiations with Barcelona to buy Van Bommel.

Apparently it's likely the deal will go through....

I wouldn't be opposed to that, Van Bommel has again had a poor start to the season with us and not looked comfortable in the playing time he's got. He's not in the starting 11 or the bench for the Super Cup so this may be a sign. And I'd rather sell him now for cash instead of losing him on a free when his contract expires next year, since he'll surely not extend.

We are also covered since it looks like Saviola will end up staying, meaning a deeper role for Gudjohnsen. And of course it's also good because Iniesta will get more playing time. Now only the price has to be right.

hmm i really enjoy that new speculation about van bommel, would be a great midfield

our defence and strikers still one of the best in europe, with this midfield now in offence (fully fit deisler too) i believe we can do very well in CL

at the moment it looks really bad for us, i really rate only Salihamidciz and Schweini for the offence, the rest is average, thats not enough, and Deisler will still start the team training in september

our game wouldn`t be more so static without ballack, with deisler van bommel and schweini we had then three tricky players

BilalShah wrote:I really like to see Schweni played in that role.

i think its not that important, players in offence always rotating on the field, i think schweini prefers the half right position

    http://www.sport1.de/de/apps/news/news-meldung/news_322619.html

    -----

According to German tabloid "tz" van Bommel said he will move to Bayern, because it would the best for his career. Seems the transfer fee is about 12 million Euro...

Does this mean Hargreaves will leave Bayern then?

Van Bommel getting more playing time = good. Very Happy

    He deserves it.

If you don't sell Hargreaves, you will be (remain) strong in the midfield. The gap Ballack left might not be as big as before. Besides, if there's a player who's unfairly mocked and underrated, its Van bommel. A very good buy.
