I like the sound of this... Materazzi-Barzagli-Grosso - we will have an Italian backline after ages!! Wink

    Inter prepare Barzagli swoop
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As Cristian Chivu moves closer to Barcelona, it has been suggested that Inter will turn their attention to Palermo’s Andrea Barzagli. Reports in the Italian Press state that Nerazzurri officials are talking to their Sicilian counterparts in a bid to secure the services of the Azzurri stopper.

After three impressive campaigns with the Rosanero, Barzagli is believed to be keen to join one of Italy’s giants and has a close relationship with Marco Materazzi. There were frequent reports linking the 26-year-old with Juventus last season and even rumours that the two sides had agreed a deal, but no contract was signed. If Chivu signs for Barcelona it is anticipated that Inter officials will immediately table an offer for the Tuscan, who is seen as the heir to Fabio Cannavaro in the Azzurri set-up.

Yeah i think he'd be a good signing. Obviously Chivu would be first choice but if its not meant to be then Barzagli would be a good signing to play alongside Matrix. Also i expcect Grosso to be a lot better next season.

    @Bluenine

Will Samuel leave Inter even if the Chivu to inter deal doesnt go through ?

Yeah. I am quite sure that Samuel will be sold if Chivu/Barzagli come in.

And I expect much more outta Grosso too... giving him the benefit of doubt coz of the injuries... and he did have a few great games for Inter... maybe next year we will put to rest what has been our achilles heel for 15 years (and like 20-30 failed players) - the left back!! Or we will add Grosso and Maxwell's name to an illustrous list which includes Carlos, Silvestre, Favali, Coco, etc etc etc

Napoli "reject" Cassano!! From the looks of it, he is set for Milan now... hmmm... hope he breaks the team down in the locker room Wink

    Cassano to Milan
Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentis also rejected claims linking the 'one time starlet' to the newly promoted club. “We don’t want people that create locker-room problems in our team,” he declared, putting an end to the speculation.

Just as darkness appeared to surround the Bari-born ‘Peter Pan’ a new ray of light coming from none other than the European champions has suddenly brightened up his future prospects.

“I like Cassano," Galliani told reporters this afternoon. "He was already linked to us in Janauary, but not all were delighted with the possible move. "Now we will try again. You know he is a forward, and we are looking for a player in that role. "Therefore, put him on the list."

Milan's sponsors put Inter as Favourites Wink

    Bookmakers Believe In Juve
Betting company Bwin published the first odds for the victory of next year's Serie A title. Obviously, these odds can and will vary during the course of the summer depending on the various signings clubs will make and also by the time the league starts, with the first results also liable to influence the odds.

At the moment the two clubs from Milan are still considered the favorites. Surprisingly enough it is Inter, not Milan, the club Bwin betting company are sponsors of, who are given the best odds to win the Serie A next year: 2,25, although Milan are not too far behind with 2,5. But Juventus, who at the start of the month were in double figures, have now gone down to 5. In other words according to Bwin Juve have half as good a chance of winning the Scudetto as Milan, but they have a five times better chance of winning than Roma, who were Inter's only Scudetto rivals last year (well, until around January...), but are now given at 25 to 1.

Yeah i saw that aswell. Skybet have taken a different approach and put Juve 7/1 along with Roma, with Inter favs.

    Napoli capture Hamsyk
    Thursday 28 June, 2007
Napoli have confirmed that they have completed the signing of Brescia starlet Marek Hamsyk.

The 19-year-old Slovakian impressed in Serie B last season and was a reported target for numerous clubs in England, Spain and Italy – including Chelsea and Juventus.

“Napoli have signed Hamsyk from Brescia – the midfielder has signed a contract until 2012,” read a statement on the club’s website.

“I am very happy and proud to play for such a prestigious club as Napoli,” said Hamsyk. “I cannot wait to wear this famous shirt and meet my teammates.”

Hamsyk, who started his career with Slovak Bratislava, joined Brescia in 2004 and played 40 matches last season, scoring 10 times.

    Official: Palermo Sign Bosko Jankovic

Palermo have confirmed that they have signed midfielder Bosko Jankovic from Mallorca.

The Serbian midfielder was one of the stars of the Under-21 championships, which immediately sparked interest from a number of clubs.

He had earlier shown a willingness to make a "dream" move to Valencia, but Los Che have not shown interest since, and he has now signed for the Sicilian outfit.

Reginaldo has left Fiorentina to join Parma.

Excellent move... Jankovic was the revelation of the championship IMO, he is going to have a great career ahead... the next Stankovic!!!

Re Reginaldo, that was a step backwards for Fiorentina... he gave the viola an option to make their attack unpredictable when really required.

Apparently Barca, Valencia and Chelsea were interested, but Jankovic rejected their offers for Palermo.

I am as shocked as you are!!

Can a 23 yr old be mature enough to realise that first team football is more important than a dream club? If thats the reason, I am very impressed with young Jankovic. I will be following his career with great interest. He is become a World Class player, I am certain of that...

Good for Palermo, they did manage to replace Corini well - I never expected them to!!

The Dane is free to leave the German champions after trainer Armin Veh announced he played no part in his future plans.

Olympiakos originally showed an interest in Tomasson back in the winter but were snubbed by Stuttgart. Their interest hasn’t cooled and the club are reportedly in discussions with both the player and Horst Heldt.

Also in the running for the former Milan striker are Villarreal, with whom the player spent 6 months on loan this season. He scored 4 goals in 11 games for the ‘Yellow Submarines’.

The Spanish side have the option to buy at the end of the loan period, but are baulking at the €1.5 million asking price.

Tomasson would love a return to Italy, but initial interest from Roma, Atalanta, and Genoa has not been followed up.

Don't know which is more insulting the 16m or including a reect like Oliveira. We might let them have a replica shirt for that.

Needless to say, it will take a *lot* more than that if they really want Valencia to sell.

Montella is being linked with a move back to Samp.

Reggina full back Mesto is subject to a bid from Udinese ! the deal would be cash and Motta.

I m surprised they offer Motta he looks like a star of the future, although Mesto has been quality this season.

Sevilla are determined to sign an Italian goalkeeper with Morgan De Sanctis the favourite ahead of Marco Amelia.

I don't know how it was interpreted in Spain, but in Italy Berlusconi has been clear: Ronaldinho and Eto'o are not for sale. I don't know what else the man has to say.

From acmilan.com (I have also read the original Gazetta interview in print).

    NO RUSH OR FEAR
    6/30/2007 7:19:00 PM
President Silvio Berlusconi has put the Milan fans at ease by stating that the club have time to sign a really top player

President Silvio Berlusconi has been speaking about the transfer market and the arrival of a top player. He said: 'Shevchenko is always in first place for me but Abramovich asks for too much. Shevchenko would have no problems returning and would be the ideal player to play alongside Ronaldo. Then there is Ronaldinho but I know it is an impossible dream because the Barcelona president is elected by the club members and he's said he couldn't remain in Spain. Eto'o is also difficult as there is a different fiscal situation in Spain which allows players there to have much more than ours.'

Lazio sign Meghni and Scaloni ! Meghni is a good signing

Scaloni signing means Belleri will be loaned out next season and Behrami can go back to playing in the midfield after filling in at rightback.

Lazio will have a nice looking midfield next season with Foggia Meghni, Behrami, Mauri, Ledesma, Mudingayi, alothough i do wish they could hold on to Jiminez.

Where has Meghni been? The last I heard of him was when AS ran an article regarding possible defensive midfielders Real Madrid were looking to sign (around 2 years ago)

Told you we were after him. He would come back to us over Genoa anyway.

He'd have to be mad to choose Samp over Genoa !

Yeah Yeah whatever...we'll see won't we.

Meghni is an attacking midfielder, known more for his vision and playmaking capabilities... also hailed as the new Zidane...

Rolando Bianchi has announced his excitment at moving to Napoli, the fee is thought to be around £8m and he will sign a 4yr contract.

I think he will be a good signing for Napoli and i dont htink he will be the last big money signing they make this summer.

Ziegler has signed a permanent deal with Samp.
