    @blue9

I have already expressed my views on Gila; im sure he will eventually come good.

As far as Oliveira is concerned, at the moment he seems like a guy who couldn't even finish a decent sized hamburger, let alone scoring chances Evil or Very Mad

Gila is much better than people give him credit for these days... just like he was not as good as he was made out to be 2 years ago.

what about Zambrotta? Would you guys sell him if you got Abidal?

No, because Zambrotta will play RB. Not his best position, but we don't have a choice. I don't think we will spend 20 something million on Dani Alves, and there's not many RB's around. Plus an on-form Zambrotta is quite excellent even at RB, and he'll only improve next year as he settles in more and more.

The only thing I was afraid of is that he might want to leave himself, but in recent interviews he has said he is looking forward to next season, is not negotiating with anyone, and has adapted to the football style, and also likes the city.

    suazo has joined milan

    Suazo mystery deepens!

    Tuesday 19 June, 2007

Contracts, agreements and bitter recriminations abound as Inter, Milan, Cagliari and David Suazo’s agents give different versions of events!

The Honduran had been on the verge of joining Inter – as confirmed by Cagliari President Massimo Cellino last week – but last night Milan swooped to finalise a £10m deal.

However, the Nerazzurri insist Suazo has already put pen to paper on a contract with them and his agents hinted that this story is far from over.

“Suazo has not had any contact with Milan and he still hasn’t given his consent to the transfer,” noted Carlo Pallavicino.

“At this moment my associate Giovanni Branchini is in Japan and on his return he will be brought up to date on this whole situation.”

Cagliari are adamant that they have nothing more to say to Inter and President Cellino was furious at being accused of an unprofessional approach.

“Someone missed a great opportunity to stay quiet,” said the patron. “I, however, don’t want to break my silence on this matter.”

Milan also reacted to Inter President Massimo Moratti’s claims that they were robbed of the Honduras hitman.

“I have nothing to say. You can work it all out with your own brains,” said Vice-President Adriano Galliani.

In truth, there is another backstory to this chaotic chain of events that involves another club entirely.

Last week Cellino admitted that Roma had asked him for Suazo in February, but that he requested – and obtained – their word not to contact the player until the end of the season to avoid distracting him from the relegation dogfight.

By the time the Giallorossi were allowed to talk to Suazo, he had already reached an agreement with Inter that cut Cagliari out of the loop.

“Unfortunately, it seems as if Roma’s respect for me penalised them,” said President Cellino.

It’s increasingly likely this snub was the Sardinians’ way of getting back at Inter for what they perceived as a slight in contacting their player directly.

    Samp secure Quagliarella
Sampdoria have reached a £4m deal to buy out the remaining 50 per cent of Fabio Quagliarella’s contract from Udinese, say reports.

The Italian international, who scored a sensational brace against Lithuania earlier this month, was unable to negotiate his move to a bigger side until the two clubs could work out who owned him.

The situation was heading towards a blind auction – where both teams put their bid in a sealed envelope and the highest figure wins – but it looks as if that will no longer be necessary.

Tonight’s reports suggest that Sampdoria have agreed to hand over £4m to complete their ownership of Quagliagol.

A meeting between Blucerchiati general manager Beppe Marotta and Udinese director general Pietro Leonardi has resolved the matter.

Quagliarella spent this season at Samp, where he scored 13 Serie A goals and earned a place in Roberto Dondaoni’s Italy squad.

Once he is completely under Sampdoria’s control, they can finally begin intensive talks to sell him on to a giant.

Manchester United recently had a £10m offer rejected and, according to Quagliarella himself, have now increased their offer.

Italian clubs interested in taking on the talented striker are Juventus, Roma and Milan.

Inter to lose Chivu too? lol! lol!

    Tuesday 19 June, 2007

After losing David Suazo, Inter also look set to miss out on Cristian Chivu as the row with Roma over David Pizarro rumbles on.

The Nerazzurri are finding it tough to be as dominant on the transfer market as last summer, when many sides were waiting to discover the verdicts of the Calciopoli penalties to decide their strategies.

They had been very close to signing Giallorossi defender Chivu in part-exchange for the remaining half of Pizarro’s contract, but negotiations have ground to a halt.

It all centres around Pizarro, who joined Roma last year in a co-ownership deal. While the Chilean has made it clear he wishes to remain at the Olimpico, Inter are refusing to renew the split contract.

The San Siro giants want at least £4.3m for the other 50 per cent, but Roma consider it excessive and the situation is heading towards a blind auction.

This is when two clubs put a bid into a sealed envelope and the highest figure wins the full control of the player.

Roma chief Rosella Sensi does not want to combine the Chivu talks with those for Pizarro, as the Romanian defender would be preferably sent abroad to Barcelona rather than for Scudetto rivals Inter.

    Tiago's Juventus Move "Almost Official"
Portuguese international Tiago is all set to bolster Juventus’ midfield ahead of next season, according to a Lyon official.

“We can all but officially reveal that Tiago will join Juventus,” said Lyon general manager Marino Faccioli.

He went on to disclose that only some last remaining T’s and I’s needed to be crossed and dotted, respectively, before all parties were ready to sign the deal.

The Turin giants have been actively looking for reinforcements in midfield ahead of their Serie A campaign, after Emreson and Vieira left for Real Madrid and Inter Milan respectively.

They lost out of Torsten Frings earlier in the season, and a month into the transfer season, had yet to find their man.

That, however, is set to change this week.

AC Milan were also reported to be interested in the 26-year-old midfield-allrounder, who has gone from strength to strength since joining Lyon from Chelsea in 2005.

To be perfectly honest I look at the Juve side and think "hmm, it doesn't look too impressive".

I don't see the likes of Iaquinta or Tiago changing my mind. I guess we shall see next season though. It could be out of sheer ignorance on my behalf mind you, because I actually haven't heard of half the team.

Grella signs Torino dealWednesday 20 June, 2007

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Torino have announced the capture of midfielder Vincenzo Grella from Parma on a Bosman free transfer.

The 27-year-old has opted for a Turin switch after deciding not to renew his deal with the Stadio Tardini outfit.

“Torino Football Club are pleased to announce that an agreement has been finalised with footballer Vincenzo Grella, who has signed a three-year contract until June 30, 2010,” read an official statement.

Grella, an Australian of Italian descent, is the second player to join the club on a free transfer this week after ex-Palermo star Eugenio Corini signed a one-year contract.

The former Parma man started his career in Australia, appearing for Carlton and Canberra Cosmos.

Grella then moved to Italy in 1998-99 when he joined Empoli and was a key figure in their 2001-02 Serie B campaign which led to promotion.

Parma snapped him up in the summer of 2004, where he teamed up again with ex-Empoli Coach Silvio Baldini, before being a protagonist for Australia at the 2006 World Cup.

I'm a bit dissapointed with the Tiago issue as i think he would have been good for us. I hope Baldie has something up his sleeve, cause if he really meant what he said (our transfer season is over after Suazo) then he deserves a major ass-whooping Mad
