Apparently Lyon have refused the offer from Barcelona for Abidal. They only offered 10 million euros, which is a pure joke. Are Barcelona poor? Real... have made an inquiry to replace Roberto Carlos. Great news.. the value will go up.

Yeah, I can't be happier if this goes through... I have been saying for 5 years now that he is the most talented defender after Nesta, and I will be delighted to have him at Inter... he is the "Kaka" of defence IMO.

Pizzaro+Samuel+£4M is a small price to pay for a player like him.

very true, Chivu, Burdisso, Cordoba and Materazzi. Its gonna be very competitive to get a starting spot!

I think inter just need a right winger (quaresma would be good), a backup for CM and they are sorted.

You forgot young Andreolli!! If Chivu comes in, I hope we loan on Andreolli so that he gets some experience. There are so many clubs after his services that its not funny... apparently Cagliari are holding the Suazo deal just coz they wanted Andreolli a part of the deal... for someone who has only played 13 games at the senior level in his entire life, thats quite a achievement. It is strange tho, he is 21 now, debuted 3 years ago for Inter senior team, always impressed, and is still considered a youth player... in a team like Arsenal or Fiorentina, he would have been a regular by now... certainly has the talent...

anyways, you are right. We just need a winger and a CM... both can be young and back-ups... I am not sure why we are after Suazo (even tho he is good)... maybe its coz Mancio always wanted 5 strikers... but with Suazo, the 5 strikers will be too high profile (Ibra, Adriano, Crespo, Suazo & Cruz) - we definately don't want Cruz to become 5th choice striker! So maybe its coz Adriano is leaving, maybe there is some truth in the rumours of a swap deal with a spanish club Wink

We are deliberately starting low to try and negotiate it. Aulas wants 20 million which is obviously too high, so expect the figure to be in the middle. If Madrid start messing around, then we will consider including Giuly or Edmilson or Motta, since Lyon are losing Tiago and Malouda.

I think the Ribery deal is a bit more expensive than has been reported so far.

    http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/07062007/58/bundesliga-ribery-joins-bayern-munich.html

According to this it is a 26m euro deal, rising to 30m euros if Bayern qualify for the CL next season. So that is about £17.5m now, possibly rising to £20m

Yeah, I read it. Tweedle was right (but over-analysed it a bit), Malouda won't just look at which is supposedly the better team. The french connection at Arsenal will be the most important factor, but I don't think style of play will really matter.

tbh though, I can't see Arsenal buying him. Wenger has indicated they will continue to go after small signings this summer. Also, Barça are not going to be in for him, I doubt he fits our formation or will want to be a backup. We have other needs for the squad.

He's pretty much the only big signing you need if Henry is staying.

The rest of the squad he can sign fill with African players for £100,000.

Barcelona are moving to trump Inter Milan for want-away Roma defender Cristian Chivu.

The Romania international has pulled out of talks this week over a new Roma contract after Inter tabled a bumper deal to his representatives.

However, Chivu is also delaying more negotiations with Inter after Barca made their interest known to one of his agents, Iaon Becali. TGcom says Barca's offer is attractive and has forced Chivu and his agents to take a step back and consider their next move.

Roma had intended to offer Chivu a deal worth £1.5 million-a-year, however the Romania international is seeking a clear £1 million-a-season more and can count on both Inter and Barca meeting his demands.

I'm pretty sure Ribery cost less than 25m Euros. The sum remains undisclosed, which was Marseille's wish.

I think Hoeness did some similar magic to when he somehow got Toni for next to nothing. Still, he is one of the most expensive transfers in Bundesliga history.

Latest rumours are that after hearing of his move to Inter, Barcelona got in touch and made our possible interest known...so that is why his move to Inter has not been finalised just yet. Any further developments will probably come after La Liga ends.

Juve Wants the son of god

Reports coming out of Italy suggest that Claudio Ranieri wants to sign Barcelona midfielder Anders Iniesta.
Iniesta has been in good form this season, and some believe more consistent than both Xavi and Deco. He has also been impressing for Spain, having made a permanent place for himself in the first eleven.

The youngster was played in an attacking midfield role against Latvia on Saturday, and was the best player on the pitch. The match also saw him score his third international goal in four games, as Spain won 2-0.

It appears as if his form has caught Claudio Ranieri's attention.

Reports coming out of Italy are suggesting that the new Juventus coach wants the youngster to light up his midfield, and that the club approached Barcelona.

An offer that supposedly also includes David Trezeguet, is said to have been made to Barca.

The reports have already made it into Catalan dailies, though none of them believe Barcelona will consider the offer, even thought Trezeguet is a player they have followed for a few years.
