While I agree that it's a disgrace how the Bayern board (not the fans, mind you) treat Makaay, like I wrote earlier in this thread myself already, you Dutchies should understand a basic thing about Bayern before you start your attacks on Poldi, as cute as your efforts to 'defend' a compatriot are.

There is no other club that I know of where young talent is wasted as much as it is in München, and the nationality doesn't even matter. But especially for young German talent, there are a ton of examples of wasted careers that either started or (more or less) ended there.

Bayern München is not a club that young, unestablished players should join. They probably will never get it, because money and the name will always lure them there, but seriously, it has been like this for ages. If you have not established yourself, don't join Bayern München, simple as.

Poldi, Schweini and Schlaudraff will do just fine in exchange, thanks.

Seriously though! The future of German football can't survive on bit-part bench roles. And the thought that if Schweini recovers from his illness he's aiming at a place on the bench – though at least he's closer to the A team than the others (why does Ribéry deserve it ahead of him anyway??) – is too painful to contemplate.

Makaay just said that if Bayern get Klose, then he has an agreement with Bayern that he's allowed to leave.
He has gotten an offer from Lyon, but he's not going to France.
He said he's either going to Spain or Netherlands (very possibly Feyenoord).

Pff, he wants to go to Feyenoord! What would you do? Stay at Bayern with overrated talents like Poldi&Piggy. Or play at Feyenoord were you can see UNITS like Vlaar, Drenthe etc.

So what's the latest on Klose & Bayern? How likely is this transfer?

Werder basically have told Bayern that the talks are finished, or to put it more bluntly, that they can piss off. There haven't been talks for over two weeks now, Bayern still are only offering 10m EUR, unacceptable for Werder. Some very arrogant interviews by Bayern officials in the last few days have not exactly made things easier either, that's why some Werder fans actually speculate that Bayern are not really interested in Klose, and only want to cause unrest at Werder, like they successfully did at the end of last season already (illegal meeting in Hannover).

So atm., it looks like Klose is going to stay. Klose can't afford to have another bad season, because he now has some serious competition in die Mannschaft, and this is the last season before the EC in 2008. He will have to give his best for the club, or risk to lose his starting place both in Bremen and in the national team.

Some insiders in the Werder forum claim that there is a unofficial deadline for Allofs, July 2nd. If Bayern are not willing to pay the 15m EUR minimum we demand by then, there won't be any talks afterwards, even if Bayern should be willing to pay the sum later.
