Well, there you go...

Oh, and I nearly forgot: We managed to offload Marco Streller! Best of luck in Basel, Marco and thanks for the (few) goals you scored for us--and I hope you stay injury-free.
Bundesliga, 20.06.2007

Juventus Turin will Mario Gomez (21) verpflichten - sofort.
"Stuttgarter Nachrichten" is reporting today, Juventus Turin want to sign Stuttgart´s Mario Gomez offering about 25m Euro.
Stuttgart's manager Heldt does not want to let him go though...

@Wiebke
What do Stuttgart fans think about that? I mean I know you surely would like to keep him, but 25m is a lot of money...

Thanks
Maybe Wenger should hire me as his new sporting director
Anyway, a bit surprised they're letting him go, but I think it'll be a good deal for all involved. Let's see who Zaragoza get as a replacement.

At the moment it looks like Klose will stay in Bremen one more year.

So Lyon's alleged interest hasn't materialised either? Cool
Hope for you he stays. Don't worry about Arsenal, we would only sign Klose if he had been 5 years younger.

A pity, might have been a good deal for Bremen: Lyon´s offer was much better than Bayern´s and Bremen is very interested in Alou Diarra. Apart from that we would of course prefer not to sell him to Bayern...
I guess from a foreign club we would only demand about 8m for Klose. With regard to Arsenal/Henry some Bremen fans were indeed hoping Arsenal would make an offer for Klose, but the opinion is also Arsenal fans would hardly accept Klose as an adequate replacement for their beloved darling Henry...

From what I have read many Arsenal fans must be pretty furious about the loss of Henry. Surely they demand a bigger name than Klose, who is younger and less German...I've read Wenger wanted Eto'o, but since Barca would hardly let him go, I think Wenger might try to sign Trezeguet instead now.jonathan de guzman wrote:Those Arsenal fans who think so are stupid. I'm a romantic, so I always hope players stay at their club. In that sense I'm gutted TH left, but Arsenal shouldn't be desperate we still have the biggest pile of talent in the world & with 2 GOOD signings we should be fine to challenge for anything.

Newest Bundesliga transfer rumours:
After offering 25m EUR for Gomez, it looks like Juve are interested in another Stuttgart key player of the last season: Fernando Meira. Juve supposedly are willing to pay 20m EUR for him, and unlike Gomez, it looks like Meira might actually be interested in a move to Italy or Spain.
Stuttgart's sporting director Heldt is furious about this however, and said that Stuttgart is not willing to sell any more players, and will call in FiFA on this.
Sevilla are supposedly interested in Hertha Berlin midfielder and highly rated German talent Kevin Prince Boateng. Boateng himself confirmed their interest, and according to a Kicker interview, he actually might be interested in a move also.
The neverending Carlos Alberto saga might finally come to an end soon. Werder supposedly agreed to buy Carlos from MSI for 7.5m EUR, as Kia Joorabchian confirmed in an interview himself. Last week, it looked like CA would move to HSV, since they had an agreement on a loan deal with MSI, paying 1.1m for the loan, and 8m next year as an option to buy him. But MSI prefer to sell the player now.

I actually wanted Klose to leave, like I said quite a few times lately. Bayern paid the money we demanded, the deal is done. Klose is a huge disappointment, no doubt, and Poles are not to be trusted indeed (especially important to hide your car keys), but that's a thing of the past now. We'll make good use of that money, that I'm sure of.

Re: Bundesliga summer transfers 2007
Found this gem in the Werder forum. Looks like HSV are finally out of the race for Carlos Alberto:
Oh doch, das seid ihr...
But his frustration is understandable. Stevens (manager) and Beiersdorfer (sporting director) went to Brazil without even talking to CA once. Beiersdorfer stayed a whole week, but he still couldn't contact the player he wanted to sign.
I do feel a certain Schadenfreude about all this, but on the other hand, it's quite unfair how they were treated there. Transfers in South America have their own rules.
P.S.: Once we have signed CA, I really don't want us to make any more deals with MSI in future either, at least we should avoid them as much as possible.
HSV AR-Chef Horst Becker:

Werder Bremen are supposedly interested in Ibson (Porto), a midfield allrounder, probably as a replacement for Daniel Jensen or Leon Andreasen, who might leave the club in the next few weeks.
Another Brazilian? A team of German and Brazilian (future) internationals sounds great, but we shouldn't overdo it.

I know YouTube videos never tell the whole story, however these clips are pretty good, because they are long and are not just your usual highlight compilations.
He looks quite promising, great technique for a defensive midfielder (midfield allrounder). If you consider that he'd be a squad player, I think it's safe to say that he'd be a good signing, the risk should be low.

I don't know how viable a proposition he is for you guys, but I agree with your sentiment about his technical abilities. I liked the look of him against Rangers a few years ago. He's tireless too, and I think he has a cool name!

Re: Bundesliga summer transfers 2007
First, we want to finish the Carlos Alberto deal, who is an attacking allrounder and can play as second striker also. He'll cost 7.5m EUR, and should he integrate well (which hopefully will be made easier with Diego, Naldo and Almeida in the squad), I expect great things from him.
Furthermore, we've been linked to a couple of known and lesser known strikers: Huntelaar (Ajax), Afonso Alves (Heerenveen), Luis Suarez (Groningen), Lavezzi (San Lorenzo), Eduardo (Dinamo Zagreb).
It all depends on how much we are willing to spend (we have more than enough cash), and if we'll change our diamond 4-4-2 system next season. Can't see the latter happening though, that's why I expect us to buy a good replacement, probably one of those mentioned.

I thought Alberto was a brilliant player a couple of seasons ago for Porto, and I think he was pretty young at the time too. It'll be good to see him back in Europe.
I know all of those attackers apart from Suarez.
