Diarra could be out as well...he was one of Capello's specific requests.

One of Inter's old keepers wanted to return to them as 3rd choice, so maybe to make room Toldo is willing to leave.

Without Capello, I should think that Emerson will be the first to go.

I don't think Diarra is going anywhere, because of the money spend on him and his age, and hasn't been that bad, i would like him to stay. I'm 100% certain he is not going anywhere despite who the manager is.

I would imagine that Cicinho has relatively good possibilities of staying; had Capello continued he would have been sold, surely.

Agreed. It's absolute insanity that we're thinking of splashing the cash for Alves when we have Cicinho. I believe that whoever is our next coach will give Cicinho another chance, which is great news
By the way, did anyone see Robinho against Mexico? He was UNBELIEVABLE. The only one in the team doing anything productive. This is what we will get from Robinho next season when we have a coach who gives him some freedom.

Don't shoot the messenger but the English papers are talking like the Heinze deal has already been done and he will sign after Copa America.
10 million euros.

I'm probably in the minority but I would be happy with his signing. I thought he was amazing in his first season at ManU and although he was very disappointing last season, it had a lot to do with his injury and the fact that he rarely got any chances due to Evra's great form.
I also think his age is a good thing. He can play for 2-3 seasons at the most with Torres as backup, while Marcelo develops in another team. Of course, it would not anger me in the slightest if Torres benches him immediately or if Marcelo is ready to come back next season already.
I just think we need an experienced LB in the team. 10 million Euros is perhaps a bit much but we did stiff you guys in the Van Nistelrooy and Beckham transfers so a couple of extra million is alright

That is a ridiculous amount of money for Heinze. He is decent but I'd rather play Miguel Torres who cost...nothing.

How much did Zaragoza pay for Javi Paredes? IF we were going to buy someone it should have been someone like him; not 10m. euro for a Valladolid castoff with injury problems.

So when is Bernd going to be confirmed?
I hope they are already working on the signing behind the scenes.

It sounds like Getafe's president, Angel Torres, is resigned to the fact that Schuster wants to leave so it could be in the next day or two.

Fantastic!
So much for the 15-20 days Calderon was talking about.
So are we the first club to sack Capello

Miguel Angel Portugal is not moving to Real Madrid.
Portugal left as coach of Racing Santander last week and was expected to take up a position with Real's football staff.
But Real sports director Pedja Mijatovic made it no secret he was against the appointment of Portugal, insisting he did not welcome the interference, says AS.
While Real president Ramon Calderon was determined to appoint his good friend, Portugal chose to pull out of the deal to avoid conflict.

Getafe president Angel Torres revealed last night that he had agreed to release coach Bernd Schuster from his contract.
Schuster is expected to be named new Real Madrid coach next week and Torres confirmed: "If he is to join Real Madrid, he will be allowed to do so because there will be no compensation to pay."
Torres has agreed to wave the £220,000 compensation clause in Schuster's contract should the German leave Getafe before the agreement expires in 2008.
Meanwhile, Schuster said: "Angel has given me tremendous joy. He knows that I have given my life to Getafe over these two years and he will not stop me from fulfilling my dream. Torres has behaved like a gentleman and a knight and there will be no problems with compensation."
"Surely, next week everything will be cleaned up."

I was a bit surprised and disappointed about this. Portugal knows alot about football and is an excellent scout he would have been great for us but it seem like Pedja thought his job was being threatened and pulled a power play and good old Portugal didn't wonna be int he middle of it all and declined our offer. Bit sad that Calderon didn't enforce his wishes and hired Portugal, he could have taken over Baldini`s job.
Rumour has it Pedja & Schuster don't really get on that well despite Pedja denying this yesterday, i don't think Pedja will last another season at the club, time will tell.

Is Pedja a bit of a troublemaker and egotist? I'm sure I've read other negative stuff about him before, although I could be mistaken.
