First, to shut up all his critics back home, seeing certain people having an omelette on the face never gets old. Second, to revive the great tradition of excellent German managers, something we really lack these days. And finally, to have the opportunity of a new "base" for German players abroad, something like the Serie A in the late 80s/early 90s (e.g. Inter), with the best German players moving there (Matthäus, Brehme, etc.).

Especially the last point is important in this respect. We really need such a base these days, now that the Argies have basically taken over Inter, while the Dutchies have Barça, the reason why we will never see high profile German players there.

El jugador quiere salir del Chelsea debido al creciente distanciamiento que tiene con Mourinho. En vista de que el técnico portugués continuará un año más en el Chelsea, Robben le ha dicho a su padre que quiere jugar en España y sólo contempla el Madrid.

Por lo que respecta a Mourinho, el técnico del Chelsea no cuenta con Robben y vería con muy buenos ojos su salida del club. Sin embargo, Abramovich es otra cosa. El multimillonario le fichó en junio del 2004, considera que Robben es joven, que tiene una gran progresión por delante y por eso se va a poner duro en la negociación con el equipo blanco.

El dueño del Chelsea ya conoce de primera mano, porque el padre del futbolista así se lo transmitido, que el holandés se quiere marchar de Londres y abandonar la Premier. Para el ruso esta decisión no sería tan traumática como si decidiera irse al Arsenal o el Liverpool, un extremo ante el que no cedería, puesto que supondría reforzar a un rival directo. El traspaso de Robben rondará los 20 millones de euros.

El andaluz va a presionar para que el Arsenal baje sus pretensiones y llegue a un acuerdo con el Madrid.

For 7m. euro, Reyes would be a steal! I'd pay 10m. for him in heartbeat...hopefully this works out.

He`s only been in small clubs mate, and he took Getafe to there first ever cup final and got them to play europe for the first time ever too.
Look at Rijkaard, Barça took a massive risk with him, he too had no experience, even worse he got Sparta relegated !!! Had no european experience and won them their 2nd (lol) CL.

Not happy about Robben though. They guy might as well be nicknamed "Mr. Glass". He's had lots of injury problems since his PSV days and nothing has changed in Chelsea. The guy hasn't even completed half a season with them yet. I say we splash the cash on Quaresma instead.
