Atletico have been interested, and if they sell Torres then they might be willing and able to offer us a fee closer to what we are asking.

I'd pay the 12m. in a heartbeat, personally.

he is worth more than 12million after winning you the league Very Happy king

12m is good value for Reyes but I think we just want rid now so that we can plan for the future. We don't lose a huge amount on him and 12m is enough to sign a good replacement so I can't imagine we would haggle too much over an offer in that price range.

I really hope it works out, he started off the season in great form but I think he (like many others) suffered from the tactical straight-jacket imposed by Capello. With a bit more freedom I think he can really flourish for us, and he was really outstanding against Espanyol and Mallorca down the stretch.

Probably! Until there is a new coach in place, there is nothing really to talk about...but we approached Chelsea last year about Robben so this is really nothing new. The article could even be recycled from last summer. Biggrin

A lot will depend on the new coach, he will have a say on transfers as well.

Can't see Madrid going back to the Galacticos approach, no matter which coach they sign, which actually is a good thing.

Miguel Torres To Sign A New 5 Year Deal!

EL CLUB BLANCO ´BLINDA' A UNA DE LAS FUTURAS PROMESASReal Madrid Campeones de Liga 2006/2007!!!!!! - Page 17 Miguel_torres1_ES

Real should get Quaresma, he should be top priority.

In addition to that, they should get Bernd Schneider from Leverkusen for the squad / rotation. Schuster rates him highly, he is the most underrated player on the planet, a key player of die Mannschaft who had his best season at the age of 33 last year, is still very fit and has a couple of years of top level football in him. Very experienced (CL final, WC final etc.), exactly what you need with quite a few older players leaving you. Would be dirt cheap also.

Yes, true, but he had his best season last year, the best player of the league after Diego, and one of the most effective. Technically very strong, two footed, great vision and passing, very versatile, a very humble and modest character with leading qualities.

For a squad player, he'd be perfect, and cheap. Especially important if you want to do well in Europe next season, you will be forced to rotate. With Schneider in the squad, you'd have the quality in depth and experience that is needed, he can make the difference in games.

There are rumours in the German press that Real might be interested should Schuster become coach, and the Leverkusen fans are going mad. He is their best and most important player.

Schneider is still very fit indeed. He'll be a key player of die Mannschaft at EC 2008 (he'll be 34 by then), and I can see him still playing for us after that.

I'd take him in a heartbeat, but he won't move to another Bundesliga club. He always wanted to play abroad though, and playing for Real would be great for him, basically a dream come true.

This ageist approach is very common in England, but other leagues are influenced by it also these days unfortunately. Ridiculous really, if you consider the average age of the Milan squad that won the CL this year, for example.

    Don't forget

    Philip Cocu <Ale>

can still do the business (may end up in the MLS or Down Under)

Its up to Schuster i say , he may get a agreement with Calderon/Mijatovic

Schenider may not have a 38 game season , as you stay could be rotated.

Robben doesn't play half the games a season, and 15Million Euros would help cover Malouda's price.

Right midfield / wing, his ideal position. Especially effective as a wing player in a double pivote, in a more free role, not as an out-to-out winger (Robben type). He is very versatile, can play any position in the midfield basically. When Ballack was injured a few weeks ago, he replaced him in the central midfield for die Mannschaft, for example. He has even played in the RB position for die Mannschaft.
Being perfectly two footed, he could play on the left also if necessary.
