TarunDang wrote:“Eto’o will most probably not arrive and if we finalise the deal with Suazo [who has yet to sign] then our transfer campaign will be over,” stated Vice-President Adriano Galliani.

So yesterday its 'Eto'o is our main target' and today its 'now we've got Suazo there won't be any more signings' Erm

Wasn't he the Brazilian who lied about his age? Or have I mistaken him for someone else.

I really don't know about that. I just know that he is 22 now, and quite talented, albeit a difficult character according to some. But our coach Thomas Schaaf has an excellent record of handling difficult characters, so I'm not worried about that.

Galliani is a fucking weasel... after years of reading his misleading quotes, I now understand a bit of what his quotes may mean... let me try and interpret his latest interview, using my experience:

“Eto’o will most probably not arrive and if we finalise the deal with Suazo [who has yet to sign] then our transfer campaign will be over,” stated Vice-President Adriano Galliani.

Which means:- Eto'o is acting difficult, so I am calling his bluff

“Will our supporters be content this way? They have to be satisfied with the numerous Finals played over the years and the fact that we lead the European rankings.”

Which means:- The fans owe a lot to my transfer genius ie I am a egoistic bastard Wink

“We had already been following the player last year. [Cagliari President] Massimo Cellino told us that the negotiation with Inter had stalled and we started conversations and struck a deal,” he added. “Will I call Inter? No, they didn’t call me when they signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic last summer,” explained the official after Inter ‘stole’ the Swede from under the noses of the Rossoneri.

Which means:- This is revenge, for Ibra. As simple as that.

“I called [President] Silvio Berlusconi to inform him of the negotiation and he was pleased with the news.”

Which means:- We both had a good laugh at Moratti's expense.

Just you wait, you fucking weasel, we will teach you a lesson in the derby... again!!

No weaselness here. Because it also means:- I just heard Laporta's official press conference and Barcelona are keeping both Etoo and Ronaldinho. And Rijkaard.

Seriously, it will be good competition will Milan... your side will be full of confidence after the CL win, and the striker problem has been more than resolved...

It will be close, but I am quite certain that the scudetto will not leave the city.

Moratti is bleating that Suazo signed with them.

Can someone tell me how a player can sign for another team without the two clubs concerned reaching an agreement? Laughing

    Oh dear..

“There was no reason for this to happen seeing as there was already a deal with the Rossoblu,” noted Moratti on Tuesday.

“Nevertheless, we will have to see what happens now because the player has already signed for us.”

“He never called me,” responded the oil tycoon. “That’s a lie. I cannot justify Milan’s attitude either, although I know them well…”

It's called payback for hijacking our Ibra transfer, in case you forgot Moronatti.. Biggrin

The war is only just starting, my friend.

But the only one who has lost complete face in this, is Sardinian chief Cellino, who only a few days earlier had claimed that Moratti's word is good enough for him. Obviously he sold Moratti out for a few million more.

And Moratti needs to stop believing in verbal agreements!! Other people in this business are not like him, and do not keep their word... when will he learn??!!

Quite a strange signing, we certainly didn't expect this.

Most Milan fans i've spoken to today are quite baffled, surely this now means the end of targeting Eto'o which is a shame.

Moratti was on the radio, he sounds frustrated and annoyed, but he seems clueless in the transfer market, a a bit naiive!

I still maintain we need a top class goalkeeper, cover on the wings, and a centre back and a central midfielder rather than yet another striker who isn't the top class player we need to maintain our level in Europe.

It seems a cheap trick, i certainly hope it isn't merely a 10 million publicity stunt to humiliate Moratti, its just very childish and the good relations relative to rivals that we share with Inter has gradually been eroded this summer, first Inter's Scudetto celebrations, then Milan's 'flags' incidents, the Ronaldo transfer, now this Suazo incident.

I hope we can still be the very best of rivals, but it seems to atmosphere in the city is changing.

Thought he was heading to Inter...

Sorry guys, but I can't find the Milan thread...so I have a question about Leandro Grimi. How long has he been at the club, and what do you think of him?

I'm assuming he's not seen as having a future in Milan, but I guess I could be wrong.

He's been linked with a loan move to Sporting to fill the LB position. I don't know if we'd have an option to buy.

    Thanks.

Grimi has maybe played 10 minutes all season, so I can't really judge. Yes, I have heard of the loan deal too. He is supposed to be quite promising.

Luso - we bought Grimi in January for around 2 million. I know that we will definately loan him out, Galliani said so. He's got pace, but kinda tiny and short.

I'm glad he will be loaned out; he needs to play games and its highly unlikely that he will do that in Milan this year. Also i'd like to think that loaning him out would mean that our directors will get a new LB! Wink

This one was very sneaky of Cagliari prez... apparently the deal was agreed verbally between the presidents, it wasn't signed yet... nothing worng legally, but not a man of his word!!!

And Moratti is sometimes too much a man of his word!Doh

In truth, there is another backstory to this chaotic chain of events that involves another club entirely.

Last week Cellino admitted that Roma had asked him for Suazo in February, but that he requested – and obtained – their word not to contact the player until the end of the season to avoid distracting him from the relegation dogfight.

By the time the Giallorossi were allowed to talk to Suazo, he had already reached an agreement with Inter that cut Cagliari out of the loop.

“Unfortunately, it seems as if Roma’s respect for me penalised them,” said President Cellino.

It’s increasingly likely this snub was the Sardinians’ way of getting back at Inter for what they perceived as a slight in contacting their player directly.

Can someone tell me how a player can sign for another team without the two clubs concerned reaching an agreement? Laughing

God, do you really think Moratti is Mr. Clean? Laughing

Apparently this is not over, and Moratti might have been right!!!

If this is true, Milan will not only get the egg in thier face, plus they will also look like idiots for agreeing to pay 10M for a player with a 8M release clause Laugh

    Inter-Suazo!!
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The David Suazo saga took another shock twist today! His contract clause releases him to Inter, so Milan pour their efforts into signing Ronaldinho.

Cagliari had agreed to sell the Honduran hitman to the Rossoneri in a £10m deal, but the player had already put pen to paper with the Nerazzurri. Initially this was considered to be an illegal move, but after agent Giovanni Branchini met with Milan directors this afternoon, new details emerged.

It’s claimed that a clause in Suazo’s contract with Cagliari releasing him for £8m is valid for Italian sides as well as overseas. With this in mind, the Sardinians have little choice but to hand him over to Inter for a lower price than that offered by their rivals plus half of Under-21 international Robert Acquafresca.

“From what I’ve seen recently we can say that there is a clear desire for the player to join the only club that courted him for a long time – i.e. Inter,” said President Massimo Moratti. “We must make the most of that, besides our rapport with the others involved. We will see how it pans out.”

This is all speculation. I am sure Milan and Cagliari would be aware of this clause at the time of reaching an agreement.
