They said on Sky at the start of the programme that there has been really heavy rainfall all day and the pitch is a bit waterlogged. They should be starting the game soon though so presumably the rain has stopped or lightened.

About to get underway. Brazil's lineup is: Cesar, Maicon, Lucio, Juan, Gilberto, Mineiro, G. Silva, Kaka, Love, Ronaldinho, Robinho.

And Dunga/Naldo are indeed not even on the bench.

    I missed Colombia's lineup...is Falcao starting?

I take it you mean Diego?

edit: Chrissi, it must be frustrating that Diego isn't being given a chance, and has travelled all that way without playing, but at least he won't be too tired for Bremen next weekend.

    What formation are Brazil playing?

Is it the 4-2-2-2 like we seen at the World Cup.

    Agreed.

As for Ronaldinho, well, that's Dunga's thinking for you. He wants Ronaldinho to be a Riquelme-like no. 10 and control the game from midfield, but anyone knows that's not the type of player Ronaldinho is. It worked reasonably well in the last 2 friendlies, but it really shows its ineffectiveness when the opponent is serious.

It's indeed somewhat frustrating, even though I don't have to fear he might get injured this way.

However, Brazil have another game on Wednesday and on Saturday we have a game against Hertha Berlin, so if he has to play then (for 90 minutes) he will surely be tired...

Baptista is on for Robinho. This has been a dire game. Who is Falcao? He has been one of the better players but I don't think I've heard of him before.

I forgot all about Baptista. Yikes

Ahhh the days where we used to bring him off the bench to try and rescue a game seem like a distant memory now.

Falcao is a 20 or 21 year old striker for River Plate, a bright talent. He's a Football Manager "must-buy".

I stopped watching towards the end of the 1st half...this Brazil has gone from Samba flair to Marching Band rigidity.

I dont agree with this, Chelsea and Liverpool play boring football, but there is a system, there is a plan and even if in a boring way, they get things done.
What I am watching is a bunch of players thrown in the field , some in a complete different place that they are used to play in their teams, with no idea what to do.

This was a disaster, but many thought that wining that Copa America was a curse, and sure it was.

I'm not sure how to judge this performance, before the match Kaka said that they would be happy with a draw.

Brazil had absolutely no ideas going forward. The only time they looked like creating a decent attack was when Kaka dropped to pick up the ball of Dobby and Gilberto, and even then they did nothing. I can only think of one ocassion when either Maicon or Gilberto got up the wings to join the attack. Both Ronaldinho and Robinho were anonymous throught the match.

Colombia on the otherhand were impressive. The full-backs Zuniga and Velez got forward regularly and Falcao and Renteria were causing problems for the Brazilian defence without creating many goalscoring chances. Ferreira in central midfield also played well.

one of the worst games I've seen in my life.

but let's not forget about the altitude. I think that the biggest problem of playing at the altitude is not the physical thing, but the speed of the ball.

I hope those dozens of mistakes were because of this, and that in Brazil they'll pass the ball alright.
