Well the defence has been pretty good overall. Despite what you like to think Cech has been very good (though I can see why you're saying he has been poor as you're simply comparing him to his previous 3 seasons ). Ballack has been excellent, so has Joe Cole and Flumps keeps putting the goals away.

Cech's made no more mistakes this season than Reina did last season (probably fewer) yet you never questioned his goalkeeping ability.
