He would be a good signing for Liverpool, Rafa could play him RM.

Re: Glen Johnson to a big 4 ?
At RB....Why would you want to play him out of position when you could buy someone who would fit in there naturally?

Its an option and Rafa likes options, plus defensive football.
Some people think that if Rafa had signed Alves then would have played him RM instead of RB.
I know Portsmouth have played him RM, he might have played RM against Man Utd?
When he has played there he has always done a very good job.

I'm one who believes Dani Alves was going to be our RW. I'd have to check but in Ballgue's book A Season On The Brink, but he was dead certain of that as well, Alves at RW for us. Obviously it is only Ballgue but at the time he was supposdely very much in the know.
Defensively, the toilet seat thief is fairly average if even at that.
So he could play RW every now and again but.........
who plays RW now? The Dirkmeister. Kuyt will never be dropped and in fairness to the guy he doesn't deserve to be dropped.
Johnson will play RB for us I feel.

Re: Glen Johnson to a big 4 ?
I doubt we'll sign Johnson, but if we do I can see Rafa playing him in both possitions. Aurelio has come on a lot as a left winger, and Johnson is probably a much better attacker than Aurelio. I wouldn't be against playing Johnson as a winger. He's much better than fucking Walcott at attacking even when he's playing as fullback.

Re: Glen Johnson to a big 4 ?
i didn't watch the england game but heard Johnson was more of an attacking threat than Walcott.
If Torres or Gerrard are injured you could play Kuyt in the middle and Johnson on the right.

Yeah exactly, but I still think £16million(?) is a massive amount to pay for a fullback, especially as Arbeloa has been very good this season. I don't think Johnson is a better player than Arbeloa, so why pay such an extortionate amount? I reckon it'll almost definitely be Man City who sign him.

Johnson got a couple of assists and got alot of praise for it, the fact is though the Andorrans are shit and those crosses probably would've been dealt with in the premiership.

You could argue though that you can't base opinions on ability of England players in 9 out of 10 of their games because they predominantly play shit teams.

Arbeloa has been very inconsistent. Has said so himself. Season before last he was very good.

Don't agree. Think this has been his best season up until the last month where defensively we were shocking.

Arbeloa has been shit, only defender to have cost more goals than Daniel 'above critisism' Agger.

What a load of bollocks
Carragher has cost us more goals than those 2 (Agger has played like 7 games ffs) and the change of left back every other game doesn't help.

Arbeloa was our best and most consistent defender last season. Batman has driven you mad with his nonsense here.
Wahre Glenn

Re: Glen Johnson to a big 4 ?
Arbeloa is a disgrace but I don't think he should be sold.
We should have signed Johnson in January. We'd have won the title for sure.
I'd sell whoever fetches the most out of Aurelio and Dossena and lump on a South American right back, any one will do.
