Good to see Milner get a go.

Hopefully Young gets a start - has a good chance, as he's the only real LW..

Otherwise, no surprises. Bit pointless doing this before the season starts and we see how players' form is.

    There isn't anyone better.

Same goes for Carrick and Barry who aren't up to it either.

Its not a criticism of capello for picking them its my response to the absolutely abysmal standard of coaching in this country that means this shit is the best we've got.

What aspect is he better than Cashley at? Crossing and final ball I can think of. It's not really a major concern in the England team. There are more pressing areas which need addressing.

are you drunk? Baines wouldn't even get into the Aston Villa or Burnley first team. He is not an international player. Cole is much better for England than he is for Chelsea. He's made a few naughty mistakes but he's saved our arse on more than a merry occasion too. His mobile phone is a bit smelly, I'll give you that.

Have you seen Baines play? He was excellent towards the end of the season. Much better than Bridge for a start. Cole isn't much better for England than he is for Chelsea it is the other way round. He makes as many mistakes as John "uncharacteristic mistake" Terry does. And he is rubbish going forward when he plays for England

You are not right. I don't like Ashley Cole, and I'd be the first to jump on a bandwagon if there was anybody better, but Leighton Baines would not be an improvment. I don't like Bridge much either if push came to shove I'd play Lescott there.

It really doesnt look very good. Compare it to the Euro 2000 squad 10 or so years ago, and there's really no comparison. And we did shit in that tournament.

    England squad for Euro 2000:

Goalkeepers: David Seaman (Arsenal), Nigel Martyn (Leeds United), Richard Wright (Ipswich Town), David James (Aston Villa)

Defenders: Tony Adams (Arsenal), Sol Campbell (Tottenham Hotspur), Rio Ferdinand (West Ham United), Martin Keown (Arsenal), Gareth Southgate (Aston Villa), Gary Neville (Manchester United), Phil Neville (Manchester United)

Midfielders: David Beckham (Manchester United), Paul Ince (Middlesbrough), Steve McManaman (Real Madrid, Spain), Kieron Dyer (Newcastle United), Jamie Redknapp (Liverpool), Paul Scholes (Manchester United), Jason Wilcox (Leeds United), Dennis Wise (Chelsea), Ray Parlour (Arsenal), Nick Barmby (Everton), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool)

Forwards: Alan Shearer (Newcastle United), Emile Heskey (Liverpool), Robbie Fowler (Liverpool), Michael Owen (Liverpool), Kevin Phillips (Sunderland), Andy Cole (Manchester United)
