Nigh on impossible to get tickets unless you're corporate or registered as part of the official England supporters club.

How did you get them? Through the away channels?

I see Aaron No End Product has been selected, after no end product stats of 3 goals and 2 assists in 4 games.

Razz That ain't gonna happen, but right now the stats suit my Pro-Lennon agenda, so will milk it for what it's worth.

Glad Lennon got a call up..been good so far this season.

Glad to see he ignored the advice of Spurs fans and has actually worked on his final ball and shooting. Rather than thinking he "doesnt need too" like they all said. Knobs.

A shame Carrick's shit performances have been rewarded with a call up though. Doesnt send a good message out.

Lennon is getting better which is good to see, if he continues then England has a real dangerous right winger. Playing him in front of Johnson who can cross and would be a good partnership. His stamina has to be good also as Johnson requires lots of cover in front of him defending. Rolling Eyes

Based on past selections, I'd expect more like:

    -----------------------Foster-------------------------------

    Johnson-----------Upson---Terry----------A.Cole------

    -------------------Lampard------Barry--------------------

    SWP---------------------Gerrard-----------------------

    ---------------------------------------Rooney

Based on form, Defoe + Lennon should get some time. Maybe Milner too, after he made good cameo in last friendly.

    Defoe bothered by Owen talk

Spurs striker keen to get away from comparisons

Jermain Defoe has admitted it can be 'frustrating' to hear Michael Owen's name mentioned when he is trying to concentrate on his own England career.

Defoe has been called up to Fabio Capello's latest squad after an excellent start to the season but it was Owen's omission which received most attention.

Comparisons have often been drawn between the two players but Defoe insists he would prefer not to hear about Owen so much.

"It's like if my name gets mentioned Michael Owen's has got to get mentioned as well. That is sometimes frustrating," said the Tottenham striker.

"Michael Owen is a great player but it is not that if I'm in the squad he's not, or that if he is in the squad, I'm not. It would be nice to get away from it."
    Rooney partnership

Another popular theory is that Defoe and Wayne Rooney cannot play together, with Emile Heskey regularly preferred up front as a foil to the Manchester United man.

Defoe has not scored any of his 10 international goals when Rooney has been on the pitch but he insists they can forge a successful partnership.

He said: "I have played with Wayne a few times now. He is a great player who likes to get a lot of touches on the ball.

"In that sense he is similar to Robbie Keane and my partnership with him is great. I don't mind staying behind a main striker, that's for sure."

A little bit childish, but ultimately he's right about what he's hinting about - there's definitely a concerted push to get the Media Darling Golden Boy that is "Ingurland's Michael Owen" into the England team, not just squad, once more.

Bullshit. I never said he was shit. I never made any knee jerk comments.

I said his crossing was extremely poor and his shooting was extremely poor and that he should be working very very hard on sorting that out.

These reporters are fucking idiots - Rooney was on the pitch for Defoe's first goal against Holland. He was fouled but the ref played advantage allowing Lampard to send it over the top for Defoe to chase.

This happened about three weeks ago, how on earth can these fuckwits get things so badly wrong?

In theory Johnson is a Dani Alves wannabe (with goal threat from open play), so Barry and/or one of Gerrard/Lampard should cover that flank.

Imagine Ferdinand and King as CBs, and Joe Cole return back into the position Milner plays. England will be far better I say.

but wait..they may want Lennon, SWP and walmart 'cause pace will 'trouble' the opposition. Rolling Eyes

There's no chance of Milner getting a start for England. I expect Capello to give Lennon a go though.

Croatia's defence is slow so Capello's certainly correct in his thinking that pace is a winner against them.

They have to win the game too, so there will be opportunities to hit them on the counter.

Why not Milner, Tweed? He came on and impressed in last friendly, while Lennon wasn't even in the squad - which suggests Capello would pick him first.

See what you mean about pace, but Milner ain't slow and plays in a counter-attacking team.

Its taken him this long for Capello to even put him in a squad so I can see why people think it might not be nailed on.

I'd like to see him given a go though.
