Wow, that would be fantastic. Solari was always a favorite at the Bernabeu and his attitude on and off the pitch would be great.

Are you kidding me? Another left-footed player? Doh

The last thing we need is Solari. I admit I like the guy a lot but he's a decent sub and that's about it. He's old now and he barely played for Inter in his time there.

How old is he? Anyhow, currently we only have one left-sided player (unless you count Robinho) and that is Adrian Gonzalez.

Solari's almost 31. He would be a useless addition to the squad, sentimentality apart.

But remember that 3 of our present targets are Reyes, Robben, and Drenthe. I think we will get at least 2 of those. It's also safe to assume that Gonzales is nearly certain to be loaned out this season but even then we have enough players who can play on the left.

What we should be worried about is our right wing. All of a sudden we seem to be having a left wing overload while we have no one for the right wing. Robinho plays better on the left and I'm not convinced about how well Cicinho would do there.

If only Calderon and Mijatovic had a brain they would forget about Robben and use that money for Quaresma. I really can't remember another time when a potential signing was so obvious and we still didn't make him a target. Calderon recently said that with Robben, Drenthe, and Reyes, the squad would be set for next season. This really worries me to be honest.

Personally, I don't think that Robinho is necessarily better on the left. I think he is more predictable on the left side and, particularly in his first season, he had some very good performances playing on the right.

Cicinho is not an option IMO. He is not very good when he has to play with his back facing the goal. He is really only affective when he can attack going forward.

Robben is equally adept on the left and right...plus, from the looks of things, Schuster is comfortable using Higuain on the right.

Solari eh? That's hilarious if true. Ans Jaime is right, Robben can play on any side, in fact when he started for Chelsea he started on the right with Duff on the left.

    @Jaime

I think Robinho is better on the left because his favorite dribbling move is to cut outside with his right foot. On the left this leaves him with a shot on goal or the opportunity to make a through ball.

With Robben, I just don't like players that are so one-footed to play on the opposite wing. I think that if we buy Robben he should always be played on the left unless we have injuries. To me, our ideal formation would be this if we swapped our targets a bit:

    .......................................................Casillas.........................................

    .......Ramos/Cicinho............Metzwelder..........Cannavaro/Pepe........Torres...

    ..................................................Diarra...............................................
    ............................................................Gago....................................

    .........Quaresma...................Higuain/Robinho.............Robinho/Reyes.............

    ..............................................Ruud.............................................

So I really think we should buy Reyes and Quaresma and forget about Robben. This way we would have a more complete squad since we could cover more positions.

    @Torrente

I know what you mean about Robinho, I just think when he plays on the left he becomes to reliant on this move and then it can become very predictable.

I would be more than happy with your proposed lineup but I think Robben on the right (or Robinho on the right and Robben on the left) would be just as good.

I do really want us to sign Reyes though...

What Ze German has been up to in training...

BLUE TEAM: Codina; Ramos, Pepe, Metzelder, Torres; Balboa, Guti, Diarra, Bueno; Granero, and Raúl.
ORANGE TEAM: Dudek; Salgado, Cannavaro, Jordi García, Cicinho; Higuaín, De la Red, Emerson, Adrián; Saviola and Soldado.

I'd imagine the Blue team played a 4-5-1 and Orange team played 4-4-2.

The German coach may divide his squad in two and play two teams, although some players will have to play more minutes than others being that not all of the 23 men who traveled to Austria are fit to dress. Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Iker Casillas, and Roberto Soldado will watch from the sideline.
Míchel Salgado has recovered from a strained left calf and will be able to see action. Miguel Torres, however, will be a last-minute decision due to a niggled hamstring. With Marcelo, Gago, and Baptista still absent -with the Club's permission-, the left wing will be a vulernable point for the team. Schuster has changed Cicinho over to the left-back position during training and will most likely keep him there this evening.

I do think Quaresma would be the obvious signing for Real. He is a fantastic winger that will add another dimension to the team. He is a showman who will excite the fans and dazzle defences.

With Quaresma and Robinho you guys would be good to watch again.

Have you even been linked with him, because all the interest to date has come from your neighbours; Atletico.

Well they're has been stories we're looking at him in various Spainsh papers and some Rumours that the 20Million Pound deal involving Pepe has something to do with a possible deal with RQ.

It's quite an obvious signing, we don't have a natural RM, and RQ could play they're him and Robinho could switch during the game and once again make us exicting to watch ok

So far the board doesn't look they will buy him, fools. Hopefully they suprise all of us and sign him.

We also need a LB, hell i'd even sign Heinze at this point - at cut price ofcourse ok

Drenthe deal looks off, he said in Marca he doesn't want to play LB and would only play there if a team mate is injuried and had to fill in for a game or two.
