I agree. I think that Saviola's signing is also a clear sign that Schuster doesn't want Baptista. If we don't take that offer now, he will surely be sold next summer after spending a lot of time on the bench and we would probably get half of that sum.

TM wrote:Well they're has been stories we're looking at him in various Spainsh papers and some Rumours that the 20Million Pound deal involving Pepe has something to do with a possible deal with RQ.

It's quite an obvious signing, we don't have a natural RM, and RQ could play they're him and Robinho could switch during the game and once again make us exicting to watch :k:

So far the board doesn't look they will buy him, fools. Hopefully they suprise all of us and sign him.

We also need a LB, hell i'd even sign Heinze at this point - at cut price ofcourse :k:

Drenthe deal looks off, he said in Marca he doesn't want to play LB and would only play there if a team mate is injuried and had to fill in for a game or two.

It is strange that you havent gone in for him, as he is like Ronaldo, but for half the price.

You can have Heinze, I think we would sell him for a cut price (£4m instead of the £6/7m offered by the scum) to make sure he doesnt go to liverpool. However we have given you too many bargains in the past.

You signed Baptista for over 20 million in the first place, so you'll still be selling him at a loss, don't forget that.

Exactly. If Saviola flops we don't lose anything. If Baptista flops we could lose 10 million Euros.

But in the end it's about what Schuster wants. If Schuster thinks Saviola would do better, then we should take his word for it.

Personally I thought it was a big mistake to get rid of Baptista last season, when there were no guarantees Cassano and Raul would perform. Now it's different because we have Higuain, Saviola, and Robinho (who will probably be played as a forward often).

I wouldn't call his season with us "piss-poor" though. Luxe played him on the left wing in most games and he was also forced to play as DM. In the last 10 games of the season when he was finally played in his real position, Baptista was easily one of our best players. We wouldn't have finished second if he wasn't for him IMO.

Schuster speaks very good Spanish -- I think he's been in Spain probably close to 20 years between playing and managing so it makes sense.

Metzelder gave his opening remarks at his presentation in Spanish and then went to German. He gave an interview to AS the other day and he seems to be working very hard on the language: reading books, taking lessons, etc.

Yes, that is the lineup -- don't know why Adrian isnt in there but I suspect he'll get a decent amount of time in these friendly matches. I'm more surprised that Soldado isn't in there; I'm sure he'll get in there too.
