Are you on crack? Deco had a poor season like Ballack but that doesn't mean they will continue their poor form. Deco hasn't done bad in the two friendlies we have played so far, I'm confident he will be back to his best.

How can you say Motta should start infront of Deco? First of all the difference in class is huge, it's an insult to Deco to even compare him to Motta!! And Motta was AWFUL last season, MUCH worse than Deco. The club have even said publicly that we want to sell him!

Dos Santos doesn't play in Deco's position so playing him there would be stupid and Yaya Toure will be used as a DM and not CM.

The midfield next season should be:

    Iniesta----Toure----Deco

Deco is a class act, Barcelona will not sell him, unless he definitely wants to leave. The only reason for Barça to sell: He may not be motivated enough anymore after winning everything with them already.

I'm not exactly sure if he'd be a success in the EPL though. Playing under his mentor Mourinho again would surely help, but the very physical nature of the league does not really suit his game IMHO.

I agree. Plus his tendency to fall over will make him public enemy number one, with players and fansd alike. Not sure he has the mental toughness of , say a young Ronaldo, to rise above it, especially at the age of 29 or whatever he is now. He's best off staying in La Liga

The Dutch FA had a deal with Adidas to supply their kit, and your Johnny Reps and Rob Rensenbrinks of this world were only too happy to wear the stripy orange shirts during the 1974 World Cup in Germany.

Cruyff, of course, had other ideas. He had an exclusive personal deal with Adidas's rivals Puma, who supplied him with their classic Puma King boots. Because of this, he was unwilling to sport the three trademark stripes of Adidas and insisted on a two-striped version instead. As you would expect, he got exactly what he wanted.

Although Cruyff wasn't around to cause the German kit giants bother when Holland embarked on their 1978 World Cup campaign, his rebellious spirit lived on. The van de Kerkhof twins, Rene and Willy, insisted on being issued with Cruyff-style two-striped shirts else they were off. But did the Dutch FA give in to this blatant show of player power?

    Of course they did.

Problem is: Puma is / was a "German kit giant" as well, the original arch rival of Adidas. Both companies were founded by the Dassler brothers. Rudolf Dassler founded Puma, while Adolf 'Adi' Dassler founded Adidas (Adi - Das sler), after they initially had run a company together, and did part ways because of disagreement.

Nice little story though Rai. ok

    Hmm... A Deco - Lampard/Ballack Swap: Neutral

A HA HA HA HA - BOOM BOOM!

Barca are 2 years 2 late for Ballack, who won't make Barca any better... Lampard will definetly make them worse, and Deco won't improve Chelsea (In terms of results, not quality of football) at all.

It clearly is a comfort zone, because you German fans can't seem to admit his faults, therefore all the time he was playing in the Bundesliga, he wouldn't get any criticism whatsoever from anyone, whether he was playing great or awfully.

    lol!

Seriously S4P, your comment could not have been more clueless. If you had the slightest clue about Ballack and his history in Germany, about all the stick he had to take during his career, deservedly, but very often unfairly, you would not have written such nonsense. It took ages for Ballack to get the recognition he deserves in Germany, his Eastern German background was often used against him, he often was criticised for not being a Matthäus or Effenberg type of "leader", basically for being a more quiet and calm player.

Get a clue please. Besides, I have repeatedly not just "admitted" his faults (his biggest one was to move to Chelsea in first place), but actually criticised him for it. Repeatedly.

This sounds like a criticism of chelsea not ballack. Talking about the system is also criticism of Mourinho, criticism of lampard etc.

Ballack (best player in bundesliga) moved to the reigning champions of one of the top leagues and made the team worse. Obviously players need time to adapt, however it seems like not only application but the effort was lacking. Therefore criticism of ballack is: not as good as some people make out and didn't put enough effort in. Probably will do better this season, but unlikely to win the player of the season although might make the top 10.

It is criticism of Ballack, because he was far too greedy and chose the wrong club, because Chelsea had Lampard, a similar player and darling of the fans, media and coach, playing there already.

How exactly is that criticism of Chelsea? It's not like Ballack was forced to move there, was he? It was his own fault, he should have known better that it wouldn't work, not that adopting to a new league is ever easy already.

P.S.: Klose was the best player of the Bundesliga in the season Ballack moved to England, get your facts straight.
