they will even construct an entire club marketing strategy around him, probably appoint him as their captain immediately and strengthen the team just to do justice to Poldi's ambitions

why would he not play ?

if THIS continues, will UEFA and FIFA have to ask Germany NOT to compete for a FEW YEARS so that comparitive football developing countries like France, Italy, England and Holland can catch up ?

Germany is now so CLEARLY the BEST country in the WORLD at producing football TALENTS that the question on the roads of Munich is whether within 4 years Bundesliga clubs will still employ ANY foreigners AT ALL

Cacau HIMSELF applied for German citizenship MONTHS ago and it had NOTHING, absolutely nothing to do with wanting to play for the national team, ffs. It's because he, after living here for nearly ten years, feels at home and almost half-German.

Why don't people get that he's not another Paolo Rink or Sean Dundee? This is not engineered by the DFB or any other club, this was his private decision and he went the way everyone else has to (i.e. no speed-tracking either) and passed the damn Einbürgerungstest.

That Löw decided to call him up is an entirely different matter.

But I don't want to see the player get slagged off for it anymore - yep, it stinks in a way, but only because Löw decided to make an issue of it, not the player. Or are there any interviews out there in which he said something about 'oh, now I can play for the German team!'? I don't think so.
