What team would you pick EMP? Silva surprisingly has hardly had a mention in this thread.

    Messi has won:

    FIFA U-20 World Cup: 2005
    La Liga: 2004-05, 2005-06
    UEFA Champions League: 2005-06
    Supercopa de España: 2006

    Rooney has won:

    Premier League : 2006-07
    League Cup Winner: 2006
    Community Shield: 2007

Rooney is a fantastic player, not many players can say they have scored a hat trick on their debut <Ale>

He only played 7 league games in the 2004/2005 season. So I don't think that can be included.

He also missed alot of the Champions league games in 2005/2006.

It doesn't matter who's won what anyway, else you could probably argue that Pip Neville is a better footballer than Kaka. Its a flawed arguement

Didn't Shearer score one for every single club he went to? (hat-tricks on his debut for Southampton, Blackburn and Newcastle). I might be mistaken though.

Yea if I remember correctly he pulled up with a hamstring in the 2nd leg?

I wasn't using the awards to compare their respective success anyway. Just thought I'd answer the question.

His hamstring went because of all the rolling he did at Stamford Bridge in the 1st leg Wink

An unusual formation, but it is designed to maximise attacking options and force opponents to have to defend in their own half with so many attacking options. I can't get the formation to work, so without positioning

Its also worth noting that this is an under 21 thread and most of those italians are over 21 ok

I'll do a future of England squad that has the likes of Joe Cole and Michael Owen in Wink

All of them are under 23 (except Pandev & Amelia)... like earlier established, in Italy the youngsters usually debut at a much later stage than other leagues.

By under 23 you of course mean 23 or under.

Still, this is an under 21 thread and as such, the squads are very deceiving. I'm sure every league could make an impressive list of two 'nationality squads' and an all league squad if the bar was raised agewise.

As it is, an English Under 21 would be:

    ------------------Hart--------------

    Richards-Wheater--Taylor----Taylor

    Lennon---Noble--Johnson----Milner

    ---------Agbonlahor---Walcott

This is the Italy U21 squad just announced... its interesting to note that even tho Pelle-Pazzini-Palladino have moved on, Lupoli still cannot make the squad!! The most talented ones in bold...

Italy Under-21 squad: Acquafresca (Cagliari), Bastrini (Sampdoria), Consigli (Rimini), Criscito (Juventus), De Ceglie (Siena), De Silvestri (Lazio), Giovinco (Empoli), Marchisio (Empoli), Marzoratti (Empoli), Pozzi (Empoli), Morosini (Vicenza), Motta (Torino), Osvaldo (Fiorentina), Paonessa (Avellino), Ranocchia (Arezzo), G Rossi (Villarreal), Cigarini (Parma), Dessena (Parma), M Rossi (Parma), Russotto (Treviso), Santacroce (Brescia), Sirigu (Cremonese)

Wow, didn't realise how many of these players are from Fiorentina!!! In 2-3 years time, Fiorentina will be a very dangerous team, if they aren't already.

In truth, Lupoli really wasn't that good. Wenger was happy for him to leave as we had potentially three young players ahead of him: Walcott, Bendtner and Vela. So he would have been 8 choice striker for us before the sale of Henry and 7th after the sale of Henry

I think he was offered a 4-year contract to stay but turned it down. You must understand that even if he didn't make it we could sell him off for a good fee like Rossi.

Wasn't really focussing on making great teams, just mentioning the best talent. Vanden Borre is talented, I can see him breaking into the Fiorentina team soon.

I very much doubt it, as even without taking into account that Rossi is much better than Lupoli, Rossi scored 9 goals in half a season for Parma, so he was much more proven. Rossi was sold off (rather cheaply IMO) on the back of a successful spell in Seri A.
