Except it would probably produce another dull game with both side playing conservatively, like the two Man U-Arsenal games last season.

Obviously, I'm hoping for and predicting a Liverpool win, which will put Arsenal out of the title race because it takes them a fortnight to recover whenever they lose.

I'm cheering on Arsenal today, which actually makes little sense in terms of the Premiership because it puts them further ahead, but I'd rather have Arsenal win and Luis cry (only Luis, the rest of the 'pool fans are decent).

Wouldn't it be better to start Crouch?

He did score a hat-trick in your last match against Arsenal.

    I'd stick with Kuyt

IF we play Crouch, theres a tendency(coming from the back four especially) to just hoof it up to the big man - Carragher and Finnan in particular....

The key game of our season so far. people constantly say rafa only cares about the CL so now we are more or less out of it the focus can be totally on the league

Arsenal are not as good as the press seem to think they are so it's up to us to prove it. the game will again be totally dependent on rafa's team selection. I can only see it going one of two ways today

    ...............reina

    finnan....carra...hyypia...riise

    gerrard..mascha..xabi...yossi
    ...........kuyt
    ....................torres

    or

    ..............reina

    finnan...carra..hyypia...riise

    yossi....gerrard..alonso..babel
    ............kuyt
    ....................torres

I don't really care which of these two sides he picks as long as it is along these lines. The second lineup is more explosive so if I did have a slight preference this would be it

a major boost would be seeing arbeloa fit to take over from hyypia but I am not getting my hopes up.

We are still not back to full strength or fitness but excuses will mean fcuk all if we don't get a result today as we will be miles behind yet again

@ COTR I'd rather see the first team, I'm not keen on Babel at the moment, I don't see what he can do in this match.

I'm gutted Agger isn't fit yet because Hyypia really worries me.

I just hope Rafa doesn't go with Sissoko, I can't see why he would but anyone can see that he's lost the plot over the last half year or so, playing him would be suicidal.

As for the Crouch or Kuyt I would personally go with Crouch, again, I don't see what Kuyt will really do in this game, against Arsenal it's vital that you keep the ball, Crouch does this so much better than Kuyt and I also think Crouch brings others into play much better than kuyt.

Torres and Crouch would do a very good job today IMO

Well I can certainly see a case for crouch but I definitely would not agree with your keeping the ball better than kuyt point. crouch has his days when he plays like pele but most of the time he spends about ten minutes figuring out what he wants to do with the ball before it is inevitably taken off him. i suppose it all depends on which wingers we play. if it's yossi and gerrard then I think crouch will only slow the buildup down. if it's wingers who will get to the byline and cross the ball (we don't have any fit and it's debatable whether we have any at all) then i would go for crouch.

I actually do not mind babel. He WILL be a good player but rafa really needs to tell him to use the whole pitch. he'll get plenty of room today against arsenal so he could be effective. plus he will be up against a pacy fullback in sagna or eboue whereas yossi may struggle with pace against either of them on that side. I can see some reasoning for starting babel

With RVP out it will be Liverpool who's the favo for the three points. But except for Kuyt the team is not really in form. From a ManUtd point of view a Liverpool victory would be best.

They're starting that shite again already! I remember a few years ago they were called all that, but them Gunners could only win the EPL, they were KO in CL by Bayern. Biggrin <Ale>

Having said that, I can't wait for the Liverpool-Arsenal match, AFTER I'm done watching Milan-Roma. Biggrin
