Lets see Liverpool try play like that vs Anderson and Hargreaves. I see is as a one way game if Gerrard plays against those two.

Anderson really doesn't scare me, as long as Carragher, Agger, Gerrard, Kewell and Torres start we can beat anyone and will beat United
Anderson should, he's better than any of your midfielders. Rio will handle Torres, no problem but without Rooney it could be a 0-0.

I don't even think Rio will handle Torres, I think Torres is literally impossible to handle, and come off it with that Anderson comment, Gerrard's in fantastic form, I think he's scored something like 7 goals in his last 7 games or something
You still don't get what makes a good midfielder do you. Cesc has scored more goals than Hleb this season but IMO Hleb > Cesc this season ( yes I said it:!Smile it takes more than goals.

It's not just Gerrard's goals either though, his all round play is sensational, he was MOTM today, he's in great form and is a better player than Anderson

Yes that was handball but a) who's to say you would have buried the pen and b) we would have come out more attacking, had you scored.

GR-09 wrote:carling cup final - there was a penalty incident that went unnoticed.... cant remmeber who.........

Always helps. You were doing fine until your captain decided to stick the ball in the back of his own net.

GR-09 wrote:Dirk Kuyt legitimate goal that was wrongly ruled out for offside - if it wasnt for Reina and luck of pens - would have cost us a place in the final.

Kalou was put through 1 on 1 in the same match yet was incorrectly ruled offside. A great opportunity to level and leave you needing 3 goals (although knowing Kalou he may very well have missed).

GR-09 wrote:Im sure there are more..... I've forgotten most of them.....

I'm sure there are if you go back to the 90s and beyond.

    a) Whether we'd have buried it or not is irrelevant - it was a chance for us to go ahead in a game where we were in control. It was all too easy. I was at the game and Chelsea rarely looked like scoring. We wouldnt even be having this discussion had the decision been given. If we fck up the penalty then fair enough - but nevertheless it was a chance for us to go ahead.

    b) We were doing well until the own goal - but again, thats completely irrelevant - we had a chance to go 2-0 up but the decision went your way.

    c) I dont have to go back to the 90's. Like i said, there are more - im more than happy to go back and check, but its rather pointless - Chelsea under Jose always got lucky with refs. Maybe not so this season

3 of the 7 have been penalties too.

I don't think his form for Liverpool has ever really been questioned either (he had a blip at the start of the season, but other than that he's always delivered for Pool).

It was 0-1 when the Tiago incident happened. It would only have drawn you level at best, in a game where you were on the back foot for most of the game.

GR-09 wrote:b) We were doing well until the own goal - but again, thats completely irrelevant - we had a chance to go 2-0 up but the decision went your way.

I'm sure there were decisions in that game that went your way. By the way, what about the free-kick in the FA Cup semi-final? If you could highlight any game-changing joke of a decision, surely that would be it?

Translation: Jose got more fines and touchline bans than any other manager in the Prem, while Chelsea picked up more fines and more red cards than any other team in the Prem under Jose.

As for this game, I knew they were going to keel over and die, as for the title it was only Bolton at home but any 4-0 is a great result however you look at it.

I don't think his form for Liverpool has ever really been questioned either (he had a blip at the start of the season, but other than that he's always delivered for Pool).

Incorrect. He was amazing at the start of the season, then got injured and took a while to recover when he was fit again, now he is on fire again. The man is a joy to watch when he plays like this. I can't wait to see him and alonso in tandem with torres when alonso comes back

When isn't Gerrard amazing according to you coater?

Maybe to you. Personally, I've never found a professional footballer incapable of controlling a football a joy to watch, no matter how well he's playing. Smile
Whenever he plays $h!t for us I regularly say it. It isn't my fault if you choose to ignore it SP Laughing

If you think gerrard cannot control a football then it is a total waste of my time even wasting the 30 seconds it took to write this post on you

Well I didn't watch either so I make direct comparison, but still it's not possible for Liverpool even at their best, to play equal football than Arsenal. Only ManU, Sp*rs and Man City can genuinely compete.

We've had one penalty in 42 games, you've had 12 in the same time. I think that paints a picture of who generally has the refs on their side. Laugh

If you want more penalties try getting into their penalty area more, generally works. Also, Drogba will never win them, because refs hate him. ok
