I've seen close to nothing of him this season, but still think he's 1 of the most talented players in the world (most people in Holand rate him as our best player). Pity he has been a bit unlucky with injuries (don't think he's as injury prone as say Rosicky). Guess he'll play very well for Holland at Euro 2008 (& then get injured again Wink )

There might be (not that I agree with it) another issue. Wenger and Van Basten get on well. Wenger has hinted he wants a partnership with Ajax (to sent players on loan to them). Shortly after he says he'll save RVP for Euro 2008. Feels like he chatting up the Dutch national team manager, who''l be dictator (not just manager, but responsible for all football affairs) at Ajax next season.

Imo we should play the strongest team as long as we can still win the lague title. f@ck Holland!

We'll see if you can win it without him. You lot seem to place a lot of faith in Niklas (1 goal every 12 games) Bendtner.

What about my other question - do you still think RVP 'can only get better'? Have you seen the development in his game over the last year that I said wouldn't take place? At the start of the season I made this quite clear and consequently was hounded and insulted by a dozen Arsenal fans.

    Now who's laughing?

Once again, nothing to contribute. Even your clubs own fans think you're a tedious jerk. Face it, you were one of the ones telling me this was Van Persie's year, he could only get better, he played so well for 10 games last season that he must be considered a world class player, on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on with your bullshit.

Now I've been spectacularly proven right in almost everything I said and you expect me to NOT take a pop at the asshole who insulted me for saying all this a year ago?

    Grr

He's been awesome this season, but poor before then in centre mid.

Thrives on the EPLs high pace so Seria A may not suit him as he isnt overly technical although good in the tackle and good positional intelligence. Better than average passing too.

Arsenal, Everton and Leeds United all reached the semi-finals of the FA Women's Cup with comfortable sixth-round victories.

England striker Lianne Sanderson scored twice for holders Arsenal, as they sealed a 5-1 win over Birmingham City.

Sanderson's England colleague Rachel Unitt also bagged a brace as Everton won 3-1 at Newcastle United.

Leeds beat Cardiff City 5-1 to book a tie against Everton in the semi-finals while Arsenal will face Lincoln City.

He should suit you lot. Works very hard, great application and effort. Will look to tackle quickly, his passing has improved as well this season and he does occasionally get in the box to get on the end of crosses. This season he has been one of our best players, probably 8.5/9-10, but in previous seasons he hasn't played at anywhere near this level, so there is a chance this is a one-off. I would certainly play him in place of Gattuso. A far superior player this season, and he can do more than just foul people which is all I've seen from Gattuso this year.

It wasn’t like he was paid badly at the club, could he have improved his wages in a new contract? It’s going to be a sad loss for Arsenal really thought he came of age this season.

From what people have said he could be earning £30,000 a week more at Milan. Which is a sizeable difference. Plus Milan are a great club, even if they aren't very good this season.

I'm disappointed with Flamini, I wish he had just come out and said that he wanted to leave, but what footballers do have that honesty now? But I don't blame him, he was fully entitled to leave. Most of my ire is directed at the board, who I don't feel made enough of an effort to keep him.

Edu is the perfect example of how it should be done. ok

Apparently he will have a four year deal worth £90k a week, not bad for someone who was completely frozen out of our squad this time last year.

Time to sort out Hleb's future now. Ale

We'll never know the full extent of his reasons for wanting to move away.

I've heard from mates who Aresnal season ticket holders, that they believe he is moving cause of the board and Aresne not showing any interest being it playing or with the contract last season. They feel Flamini might of felt somewhat frozen out last season.

It's one of those situations where you find out who are your friends and who aren't during difficult times. Might have been some anmosity towards the club.

I remember how touched Edu was when he scored (against Everton I think, from a penalty) and got a huge cheer from the crowd, because he wasn't sure if people would be happy with him having left on a free. I'm getting so annoyed with the way we let so many good players leave on a free transfer. Since 2004 we could have made a considerable sum of money rather than letting contracts run down.

The other thing that disappoints me with Flamini is that he stayed to fight for his place here, and then having finally made the central midfield slot his own, he has moved on. It's so frustrating. But, as I've said, as disappointing as it is, I don't blame him. He owes the club nothing and he has done what he thinks is best for him. It just grates a bit, and means what should have been a settled core of the side to build on for next year has become another area for rebuilding.

Its almost like we are a stepping stone to a bigger club, god that hurts! Sad

Its annoying, but we got him in a very similar circumstance four years ago. I remember the Marseille chairman at the time saying "it was a perfect treason."

Hopefully Wenger acts quickly, most of budget will probably be used to add to the midfield this summer anyway.

We are. It must be admitted, there aren't too many of our top players who don't go on to play for one of Europe's real elite clubs. And it will probably continue in the future with the likes of Hleb and Cesc. At least we normally make them pay a fortune for the privilege of taking our best players!

Exactly. It's why we can't complain too much. Plus we got Campbell in similar circumstances, and there isn't much that can compare with that!

I really hope Wenger does something special this summer. But at the moment I don't have much faith in us having a title-challenging team next season. Another year of 'transition' seems more than likely. I seriously hope he replaces the players that leave adequately, but I'm not convinced he will.
