Barcelona is said to be preparing a "mega-offer" for Kaka
You'll have to walk through Calderon's corpse to get that to happen

Can't see that deal happening, but if it does, it'll be worth it just to see Calderon's face/reaction

So apparently Jimenez is going to stay on as manager at Sevilla; will be interesting to see what ends up happening with the Valencia post.

And now Quique is being linked to Benfica...still think Sven will go there, can't see that Mexico story being true.

Re: La Liga Summer Transfer Thread
A few weeks ago, it seemed like there was going to be a massive upheaval of managers but now Jimenez stays, maybe Aguirre and Laudrup will end up staying. Only the Valencia job is really open so maybe Marcelino will still go there but nothing is finalized yet.

Re: La Liga Summer Transfer Thread
There will still be loads of change though...Betis will have a change, so will Espanyol, Racing of course since Marcelino will leave, the relegated clubs. And let's see about Laudrup...his agent's words were pretty strong, saying "his cycle in Getafe has ended" (eh? , he's only been there a season) and "if he has to take a year off he will"

isn't a cycle meant to last three to seven years?kas wrote:There will still be loads of change though...Betis will have a change, so will Espanyol, Racing of course since Marcelino will leave, the relegated clubs. Re: La Liga Summer Transfer Thread
Wouldn't surprise me. And they are interested in Mallorca left-back Fernando Navarro as well. But as a Barça youth product, we still own 30% of his rights, so that may come into the Alves-Keita negotiations.

Confirmed in press conference today. Very odd IMO.

The People has linked us with a possible £7.5m move for Raul Albiol.
I know he has been called up for the Spanish squad for Euro 2008, but how do the La Liga posters rate him?

Re: La Liga Summer Transfer Thread
Good player, bit of a dodgy season this time around but who wouldn't have one, having to partner Helguera rather than Ayala.
You'd do well to prise him away from Valencia for that price, though I can't help but think he'd take some time to adapt to England. Plays DM as well.

Martin Caceres is apparently after a move to Real Madrid. I can't see how Villareal would let him go - IMO he's better than Godin.

Both presidents have confirmed it to Radio Marca apparently. I guess all that's left is a frustrated article from SPORT, tucked away somewhere in the corner of tomorrow's edition after the news on Barça's chess C team or whatever

Oh, ok, well, good news then. It's not been posted on either clubs official website so I didn't know.
