£40mil in for Chiellini/Nesta or £20mil for Senna is what I'd recommend.

You'd pay 20m. for a guy who is turning 33?!?!?!?!?!

    lol!
When money is no object you can charge whatever!

Obviously Villarreal can charge whatever they want if Man City come asking for a player, but the question was why would Man City or whoever pay that much for a player who is nearly past it? Much better investments could be made, that's all. ok

So if Kaka is not the first one, few more superstars, or potential superstars follow him, what would that do to the image of the EPL.
2ndly what will happen to the image of Serie A, after Kaka leaves ?

They have the money and they can go for whoever they want, so if Kaka is who they want, fair play to them but it seems like what they could really do with is a top class centre back, centre forward, and defensive midfielder.

De Jong isn't in the class of Toulalan or even an ageing Senna IMO.

i agree with Jamie, I think the Spine of the team is really what needs fixing.

    Buffon/Akinfeev

    Chiellini/Agger

    Toulalan/Senna

    Adebayor/Benzema.

Well he's available for £1.8m in the summer because of a clause but MAn City can't wait!

    Its ridiculus.

I think both Senna and Toulahan would be available and willing too.

Last season, Sven had you lot in the top half - without Robinho!!!. Corluka is quality, but his loss can't have made that big a difference to the defence.

I think a lot of these teams are unrealistic, and lacking in Englishmen or at least players with EPL knowhow!!

    I'd go something like;

    Given
    Richards--Toure--Agger--Bridge
    -------------Kompany
    SWP-----Ireland---Kaka (or w/e)-----Robinho
    ----------------Adebayor

SWP isn't going to get dropped. Ireland should NOT be dropped. Can't see hem paying all that money on Bridge either to sit on the bench. You don't really want to have a team starting from scratch again full of people who can't speak the language and haven't played with each other before when you are in a relegation battle.

‘Manchester City is not the right team for Kaka. Seriously, how can they pay £100million for Kaka?

‘Manchester City must first play UEFA Cup or Champions League football because I cannot see how any big player would want to play for them until then. Big players want to win trophies and Manchester City is not even in the race for trophies in England, let alone Europe. They are fighting to stay in the Premier League, or to get to the middle of the table.

‘They have to build from there and then go against the biggest clubs and after that, maybe, a top player will join them. Chelsea were high in the League before they started to sign really big stars. Now everyone wants to play for Chelsea, but they did not when Roman Abramovich first arrived. They built a strong club and then it happened.

‘For now, I cannot imagine Kaka playing for Manchester City. It would be a fantastic contract, yes, but there are other things more important than money. A player wants to be remembered for what he has won, for the medals, for what he has given his club.

‘Imagine 10 years after you stop playing, you go back, you look around, you are not in any picture, you have no medals, no trophies; it is like you played for nothing. You may have a fantastic car, a fantastic home, but what does it matter?
