The paper rumours seem to change every day! The latest is that its all just Berlusconi playing some sort of twisted game!

Did I hear right that kaka never swapped shirts with anyone after the weekend game as he wanted to keep the last shirt he ever played in for Milan?

    From Gazzetta dello sport

20.00 - Kakà came from a window of his apartment to greet fans. With the shirt in his hand rossonera fought his chest three times. Fans into delirium while negotiations continue indefinitely.

There are conflicting reports... some suggest that Milan have agreed the fee, and now its upto Kaka to accept his terms... others suggest that the deal was finally rejected and this move has been stopped.

Something has happened in all those meetings tonight...

Its over - Kaka stays in Milan.

Kaka to stay at Milan!Monday 19 January, 2009

In a sensational twist, Milan patron Silvio Berlusconi has announced that Kaka will be staying with the Rossoneri!

Talks have been taking place all day between Manchester City directors, Kaka's father and Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani.

It had appeared that a resolution had been found as reports stated that Milan had accepted City's £107m bid.

A statement confirming Kaka's departure was expected within the next 24 hours, but Berlusconi has made an amazing declaration.

“You can't force anyone to stay at a club against their will,” he said live on TV.

“A player who is getting paid half his potential earnings elsewhere runs the risk of becoming unhappy.

“Nevertheless, I will make an announcement - Kaka will stay at Milan because he prefers the Rossoneri and puts love above money.

“The negotiations were closed by myself and Kaka in person. All the remains to be said is long live Kaka!”

Best move for Kaka himself, he now holds Milan by the bollocks for the way they have treated him, if he looks to sign a new contract he'll demand more, or if he wishes to move away to a club who have the prestige for such a player. Then Milan can surely not stand in his way should a reasonable bid come in as they opened the door for Man City purely for money reasons...

Shame though for us EPL fans who would have i'm sure loved watching a truely super player week in week out on these shores.

To be honest without Kaka, they are signings you'd expect portsmouth or west ham to make. They needed that world world class player to go along with them.

this will still have had a positive impact on City, their worldwide profile has now been raised and people know that they mean business. Bellamy and Bridge are solid Premiership players and will improve the squad while as much as Kaka would improve any team, the defensive midfielder and left back positions should have been priorities, de Jong and Bridge will give the squad a better balance and now they can continue to look for marquee players and with Robinho already on board there are plenty more Brazillian wonderkids who would happily make the move.

There are a lot of good players who City can target.... if they got so close to Kaka, they could easily tempt players like Zarate, Bresciano, Rosina, Milito, etc. Maybe even a De Rossi.

The amount of money needed to tempt Napoli for its stars will be too much... believe me, its been tried before. You will have to break the world transfer fee record for Napoli to even consider selling Hamsik, and for that amount he is just not worth it.
