What a fucking player he was, what a fucking player, if only he stayed focused, still believe he can be at the very top of the game again with the right coach.

Messi has scored 30 this season in all competitions? Amazing. Didn't realise he was chipping in with so many goals.
I think he is really trying to get as many goals as CR did last season, don't think it will happen he as missed too many easy chances and had to many come off the post, something like 7/8.
if not for that he would be on 40 are close to it already.

Dinho was at his peak in the triad than in the Messi one. Perhaps because he became a fat pig because of PED, and lost his fitness in his later years.

And 84 goals...23 away from Madrid's single-season record. With 10 games left, it's doable, but unfortunately I doubt it because of the tough run of fixtures we have left.
Would be great to break 100 though

Interesting cover from MD today, they reckon we will sign 4 players in the summer...that number seems a bit high to me, but they point out the African Cup, and possible departures of Hleb and Guddy (yes please, let's get some cash while we can).
Since it's international week and there's nothing else to discuss, we may as well start.
http://www.elmundodeportivo.es/web/gen/20090326/noticia_53667879126.html
So they think the 4 positions that need strengthening are:
1. A forward - Villa or Ribery mentioned
2. A leftback - the usual names of Maxwell or Zhirkov. Evra won't be a feasible signing so forget it.
3. A versatile midfielder, to cover the absences of Keita and Toure at the African Cup in January. MD mention Cesc, and also have an editorial saying "he's a a crack that deserves to return home". I wonder if that's again the club trying to use the media to soften the fans and/or gauge our reaction.
4. Return of Henrique.
-----------------------------------
My thoughts:
1. We only need a forward if Etoo leaves, or Bojan goes on loan (I doubt both will happen). Then, by all means Villa makes sense and should blindly be our first choice.
Otherwise the names mentioned are too expensive to be worth it...if we do end up winning titles and the technical staff are concerned about fixture congestion next year, then get someone cheap like Crespo to be the backup.
2. This is a tough call. Maxwell and Zhirkov both have their pros but also cons. Maybe we could try to sneak in the door for Clichy, he's a decent player and could be tempted away from Arsenal if his recent statements that "I'm flattered by Milan's interest" are anything to go by. But that would mean yet another Arsenal player, and they haven't all exactly worked out well
3. and 4. are related IMO:
If Henrique returns, Caceres stays, Milito gets fit, and we also sign a LB, that will be a lot of defenders: Alves, Caceres, Henrique, Puyol, Marquez, Pique, Milito, and 2 out of Abidal/Sylvinho/new LB - 9 in total!!! Plus canteranos like Victor Sanchez who can fill in.
When the two Africans are away in Jan/Feb, we can easily play Marquez or Pique in the DM position.
Let's face it, Cesc is an unlikely signing for anyone this summer, because I think he'll give Arsenal one more season after his injury this year. We should only pursue him if Madrid look like they might be tempting him.

Sport out lays out rosell plans and broad if he becomes president
http://www.sport.es/default.asp?idpublicacio_PK=44&idioma=CAS&idnoticia_PK=598879&idseccio_PK=803
1) renew the squad, replace the players that are in their 30's
2) review the proposed renovation of the camp nou and some changes , but he will not fund it by selling the mini stadi.
3) renovate the Palau Blau
4) get the b team into the Segunda division, guess thats why he wouldn't sell the mini.
5) build a new medical center for the club, something similar to what milan has.
6) expand and improve the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.
he will just me continuing a lot of what laporta has already started, i like the idea of a medical center at the club, but don't like the idea of not selling the mini, how else will the club raise the funds needs for the redevelopments, not by borrowing i hope, soriano has done a great job with the club finances, i hope he doesn't come and fuck all that up.

We have agreed terms with Palmeiras for kerrison
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11827_5106974,00.html
don't think we need him, but if he is as good as people say, i wouldn't want to see him go to another club, after we had the chance to sign him.
i say sign him and loan him back to Palmeiras and loan him to a european club the season after that.
if it works out we will have another crack in the team, or a huge about of money to make.

I doubt there's any agreement for Keirrison...he's 80% owned by Traffic (ironic name! ), the same agency that owned Henrique, so Txiki watched him play and had a discussion with them about possible clauses, transfer fees, etc.

He's just keeping his options open. I don't think he'll be good enough for Spain but he'd definitely walk into the Venezuela national team.

once you play for a U-21 team, you can't play for another national team, so he his a Spanish international now and cant play for venezuela again or am i wrong

Samuel Eto'o linked with Liverpool move
Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is weighing up a move for Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o in a bid to ensure his side do not rely so heavily on Fernando Torres next season, according to reports in Spain.
By Rory Smith
Last Updated: 1:50PM BST 30 Mar 2009
The sale of Robbie Keane to his former club Tottenham in January has left Benitez with just youngster David N’Gog as cover for Torres, a situation the Spaniard knows he must remedy if Liverpool are to keep pace with Manchester United and Chelsea.
Eto’o has insisted he would like to stay a Camp Nou until his contract runs out in the summer of 2010 and while Benitez would be prepared to wait to land one of Europe’s best strikers on a free transfer, it is thought he may try to exploit the uncertainty surrounding his future to land his man sooner.
After coming close to leaving Barcelona last summer, after manager Pep Guardiola revealed the Cameroon international did not feature in his plans, Eto’o has won his place back in emphatic fashion. He tops the Spanish goalscoring charts and has played a key role as Barcelona have threatened to run away with the La Liga title.
But Guardiola could still be convinced to cash in on a player unlikely to sign a new deal if a suitable offer arrived as he looks to supplement Europe’s best attacking line with the likes of Bayern Munich’s Franck Ribery and Brazilian striker Keirrison.
Despite landing two La Liga titles since joining the Catalan side from Real Madrid, as well as playing a key role in winning the 2006 Champions League, Eto’o’s time at Barcelona has been chequered. He is widely considered a source of dressing room discontent and Guardiola had wanted to sell him, along with Deco and Ronaldinho, last summer, but could not find a buyer.
Benitez has been promised a transfer kitty of at least £30 million by Liverpool’s owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett, plus whatever he can raise by selling off any of his squad he no longer requires.
A striker, as well as cover on the right wing and at right back, are likely to be his priorities, while a second move for Aston Villa captain Gareth Barry is likely.
