Thanks. It's a good preview I think they mentioned the 3 Dutch players I'ld mention too. Bit weird they do not mention Jack Wilshere for England.

Looking forward to the tourney. 4 Arsenal players, 7 Feyenoord players

I'm just a bit worried about our national team manager's name: Stuivenberg. Dutch equivalent of... didn't make it either

    Özyakup gunning for Arsenal team-mates

When Oguzhan Özyakup captains the Netherlands against England in their UEFA European Under-17 Championship Group B opener in Gera on Wednesday morning, there will not just be international pride on the line, but intra-club bragging rights.
    Captain
A year ago Özyakup, then 15, made two brief substitute appearances for the Netherlands in the Under-17 finals, including one against the nation of his parents' births, hosts Turkey. Since then he has been appointed Netherlands captain and left AZ Alkmaar for Arsenal FC, which added to his excitement when he heard the draw for their group in Germany.
    Breaking news
"I remember like it was yesterday," Özyakup said. "It was a Friday in April and I was lying on my bed watching television. Suddenly my room-mate and Arsenal player Emannuel Frimpong stood in the doorway. He was laughing. So I asked him, 'What's up?'. He said, 'Haven't you heard yet? We're at the same group at EURO!' Since that moment we've talked about the championships every single day."
    Dress rehearsal
The pair had a dress rehearsal for the match on their PlayStation. "I won 3-1," Özyakup said. "Since that game Emannuel has refused to play a second one. Of course 3-1 will be a perfect result for Wednesday's game." It would also reverse the fortunes of two years before, when Arsenal's Nacer Barazite lined up for the Netherlands against club-mates Henri Lansbury and Rhys Murphy of England in their last group game in the U17 finals, the Dutch losing 4-2 to be eliminated.
    Bragging rights
Frimpong is on the standby list for England's 18-man squad in this tournament, but Arsenal players Benik Afobe, Luke Freeman and Jack Wilshere could all line up against Özyakup on Wednesday. "They keep saying Holland has no chance, over and over again," Özyakup added, "but of course I stand up for the Dutch. We won two qualification rounds, so I know we can play some good football. And we will show it in Germany."

Italy just about manage to keep Spain to a 0-0 draw. Spain look very strong, but their finishing was poor, Italy were mainly very organised. In the other match in their group France drew 1-1 v the Swiss.

Holland & England drew 1-1, tonight 18.15 CET is the other group match Germany v Turkey.

Garbutt hits back as England hold Dutch

Luke Garbutt's equaliser eleven minutes from time ensured England held the Netherlands in their opening UEFA European Under-17 Championship Group B fixture.
    Early goal
Oguzhan Özyakup had given the Netherlands an early lead and it took time to respond, but by the second half England were in full flow and defender Garbutt's confident finish levelled matters. England meet hosts Germany on Saturday while the Netherlands face Turkey.
    Özyakup strikes
England threatened early on through captain Jose Baxter but it was the Netherlands skipper who struck after just four minutes in his side's first attack. Shabir Isoufi sprinted to the byline and cut back for Özyakup to guide the ball past Jed Steer. The Arsenal FC midfielder, facing club-mates Jack Wilshere and Luke Freeman, nearly had a second a couple of minutes later but after Steer fumbled, but the goalkeeper made amends with a brave save.
    England respond
Playing the ball around and swapping positions fluidly, the Netherlands' style had a distinct Dutch watermark and one good move ended with central striker Luc Castaginos heading over Osama Rashid's cross. England came back into the game late in the first half, notably the lively Wilshere rattling the crossbar with a chipped free-kick before slipping through Baxter, denied by the legs of Patrick ter Mate.
    Equaliser
Wilshere made Ter Mate save again from distance before the hour mark after a period of England pressure. It seemed the Netherlands were beginning to restrict their opponents, but with eleven minutes left England were level as Baxter played the ball wide to Garbutt, in space in the box, and the left-back's strong shot gave Ter Mate no chance. However, the goalkeeper did ensure his side a point with a save from an excellent free-kick by England substitute Jonjo Shelvey.

    -- Dalmau--Sergi---Muniesa--Blanchart

Clean sheet, all la masia players

as i said before, spain will have one the best defense in the comp, but will struggle to score goals.

    Why

no barca players in the attack.

I am really interested to see how young Dell'Agnello does in this competition, he has some rave reviews at the Inter Academy. But overall this is too young for Italians to make a mark... their tactical training is not complete, which is what makes Italians so strong internationally.

I Liked number 20 Scheider.... Strangely Germany got much better after Trinks went off, but could also be Turkey collapsed a bit, early on in the match they looked decent. Could still be difficult for England or Holland.

The excitement for a U-17 doesnt make sense AT ALL!!

Last EC in 2005....Holland went to the final..with this squad!

    Tim Krul (ADO Den Haag)
    Vurnon Anita (Ajax)
    John Goossens (Ajax)
    Jeffrey Sarpong (Ajax)
    Koen Verhoeff (Ajax)
    Ruud Vormer (AZ)
    Jerson Anes Ribeiro (Feyenoord)
    Diego Biseswar (Feyenoord)
    Jordy Buijs (Feyenoord)
    Hanne Hagary (Feyenoord)
Martijn van der Laan (FC Groningen)
Robin Huisman de Jong (sc Heerenveen)
    Dirk Marcellis (PSV)
    Marvin Emnes (Sparta Rotterdam)
    Melvin Zaalman (Sparta Rotterdam)
    mer zelik (FC Utrecht)
Mike van der Kooy (FC Utrecht)
    Niels Vorthoren (Willem II)

Biseswar became only this year something, and Marcellis since last year..but he is shite this one..and Vormer looks like a good prospect!

And lets have a look at the top 10 best players of that tourney!

    Ten talents to track
    Monday, 16 May 2005
By Paul Saffer & Paolo Menicucci in Tirrenia

A host of players emerged as real prospects for the future during the UEFA European Under-17 Championship - and uefa.com picks out ten of the many performers in Italy who could be starring on the senior stage before long.

    Yann Sommer, Switzerland
A tall goalkeeper who did not concede a goal for the first two and a half matches of his campaign, saving a penalty from Israel's Maor Bar Buzaglo into the bargain. The FC Basel 1893 custodian may then have been beaten several times late in the loss to Croatia, but he was otherwise a calm presence.

    Lorenzo De Silvestri, Italy
Along with fellow full-back Davide Brivio, the left-sided Italy captain was both a stout defender and a dangerous winger. S.S. Lazio have a mature talent who coped admirably with the pressure of leading the hosts and also struck in the third-place play-off.

    Dejan Lovren, Croatia
Still 15 until 5 July, Lovren was the youngest player at the finals but possibly the best centre-back of all. NK Dinamo Zagreb supplied the spine of the Croatia team, and although their games tended to be high-scoring, Lovren more than held his own.

    Theo Walcott, England
Possibly the quickest thing on two legs over the fortnight, the Southampton FC winger, only 16 in March, bolstered his burgeoning reputation despite only playing in England's two defeats. Along with Hogan Ephraim, Myles Weston, Joe Garner and James Vaughan, Walcott was part of a thrilling English attacking spearhead.

    Nuri Sahin, Turkey
Maybe the man of the tournament. Nuri is a massively talented playmaker who possesses skill, control, poise, pace and a strong shot - scoring the late winner against England that probably salvaged their campaign. BV Borussia Dortmund have developed him well.

    Melvin Zaalman, Netherlands
Although he missed much of the Netherlands campaign through an ankle injury suffered in their opening game, the Sparta Rotterdam winger showed a determination befitting this stage to return and come off the bench to head the only goal of the semi-final against Italy - not bad for one of the smallest players in the competition.

    Mikhail Sivakou, Belarus
While forward Siarhei Kisly was known to be a massive talent prior to the finals, Sivakou and his fellow wide man Dzmitry Rekish caused England's defenders all manner of problems in their opening match, despite the 4-0 defeat. FC BATE Borisov player Sivakou also scored with a ferocious shot against Turkey to further highlight his name.

    Maor Bar Buzaglo, Israel
Much touted as Israel's danger man, Maccabi Haifa FC forward Bar Buzaglo was as skilful as any of the players in Italy, and even as his team lost all three games he caused opposing defences a constant threat, often dropping deep then bursting through with the ball. His midfield team-mate Tommar Snappir was also an assured presence.

    Diego Biseswar, Netherlands
The Dutch had a number of players able to worry defenders - Vurnon Anita, Jeffrey Sarpong, John Goossens and Marvin Emnes to name a few. Feyenoord striker Biseswar was probably the most direct, and had the poise to claim the late winner against Israel that took them past the group stage.

    Tevfik Kse, Turkey
Like their final opponents, Turkey could boast a host of thrilling attackers, including Deniz Yilmaz, zgrcan zcan, Caner Erkin and, of course, Nuri. The Bayer 04 Leverkusen forward, however, stood out with his two goals against England, hat-trick versus Belarus and clincher in the final, enough to secure him the honour of tournament top scorer.

it's obvious that most will not make it, but if they will they probably are around (those who aren't selected have even less chance). Saw a lot of great players for the first time during these tourneys.

By the way 7 Feyenoord players in the dutch team always make it interesting.

To be honest, I have no clue about our U17 team...with regard to our goalie you mean because of the "ter" in his name I guess. Since he´s from Gladbach, kroesius might know more about him.

I myself just recently heard of Thy and Trinks for the first time, when they gave an interview on werder.de with regard to the U17 EC. Yesterday, Thy looked like the more promising player for me.

His name sounds dutch. But that is not uncommon in this region.
But he only holds a German passport.

I think he will be our number 1 in the future.

HT 0-0. Game has been played on Frence's terms so far: open game with stress on physical strength. Spain should make the pitch smaller by playing a high line, so their skill will make the difference. Now they're fighting France's ahleticism.

FT 0-0, Spain disappointing, seemed they fancy their chances to win v the Swiss. No goals from Spain in 160 mins played.

Italy play the Swiss in 15 minutes (same goes for Germany v England which is Eurosport's live match), but independent of the result France v Italy will effectively be a KO-match.
