My "insider" friend was right, this is all over the press now. La Gazzetta claims that the offer which Moratti turned down was Eto'o plus EUR 25M.
Lets watch how this unfolds....

I am not against selling our best player. But only if we replace him with Eto'o and Ribery, or 2 players of similar caliber. The way we play, we need 2 players to replace Ibra - a WC goalscorer, and a WC creative force.

Eto'o plus €25-30M for Ibra is definitely a better deal for Inter than Barca.

Maxwell could become excess to requirements, with the emergence of young Santon. So I have no problem if he is included in the deal. However, I agree with Moratti holding out for more money. Another Eur 10M, and it will be a good deal for Inter.
Apparently, Inter could do player plus cash deals with Real (Sniejder+Robben+cash) or Chelsea (Deco+Carvalho+cash) as well for Ibrahimovic.

Hopefully he asks Fergie and he sends back a great big fuck you to Perez.Florentino Perez: Real Madrid Have No Deal For Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo
The Real Madrid president has denied claims a deal is in place for the Portugal international to move to the Santiago Bernabeu. He has also insisted that he will not force the issue...
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has denied reports that Cristiano Ronaldo will definitely leave Manchester United to join them this summer.
Although he admitted that he would one day like to see the 2008 FIFA World Player of the Year plying his trade at the Santiago Bernabeu, he has insisted that los Blancos will not do anything against the Red Devils' wishes.
"From what I hear, there is an agreement between the player and his club," Perez told The Times, with reference to a supposed minimum fee release clause of €91.5 million (£80m) in the player's contract.
"If one day there is a chance of him playing for Real Madrid, that would be an honour for us.
"But if I had to choose between the friendship with Manchester United and the signing of Ronaldo, I would choose the friendship.
"Plus, I have never said that Cristiano will arrive in June. That is an arrogant and false statement.
"Cristiano is, of course, a player we are interested in, he is one of the best in the world.
"We have always had Di Stefanos [the world's top players], Amancios [the best Spanish players] and Rauls [quality players from the junior ranks].
"And it makes sense financially — [Zinedine] Zidane was a cheap signing as his arrival allowed new commercial deals and new arrivals. It is a model that feeds itself. We don’t have rich people to put money into the club."
Indeed, while Perez says he will be enquiring about the availability of some of Europe's top players, he is adamant that talks will be amicable.
"I shall be talking with [Sir Alex] Ferguson [the United manager] and David Gill [the chief executive] to build bridges," Perez confirmed.
"If we sign Kaka from Milan, I can assure you that we will still have a very good relationship with [Rossoneri vice president Adriano] Galliani.
"Of course, we want the best players to join us here — but only if their club wants to sell them. Ask Gill, [former Arsenal vice chairman] David Dein, [Chelsea owner] Roman Abramovich.
"I have an excellent relationship with them and it is essential to me that continues. I represent a club where elegance and gentlemanliness has been always our flag.
"Ronaldo or whoever will come if their club want to sell. To force through a situation is very bad for our image. If someone has acted in that way at some point, I offer my apologies and can assure you that it will not happen again."

This is a tough one. But considering taht we don't need both Sniejder and Robben, I guess if I had to choose a pair I would go for the chelea pair. A lot depends on what is the cash amount involved, of course.

Marca is reporting that Kaka has passed a medical for Real Madrid. They claim that Madrid doctors got permission from Brasil to conduct the medical tests on Kaka while he was in Brasil, and this is the last hurdle for the signing to be announced tomorrow.

How can you be so sure? According to Berlu, last time he "begged" Kaka to stay, and kaka agreed. This time Berlu apparently intends to "beg" kaka to stay again...
Yeah, Kaka is definately more believable and credible than Berlu... so lets wait & see what Kaka has to say...

Kaka seems to be a well grounded person - middle-class kid already earning good money. He doesn't strike me as an Anelka-type mercenary, who wants to earn a couple of million more.

Not according to a report couple of days ago (which i cant find it at the moment) in which his father allegedly requested substantial demands for him (as his agent) and Kaka himself.

Perhaps, but maybe now he realises that it will take him time to win more silverware with Milan... or maybe he wants a fresh challenge.... who knows!

Here it is:
Real Madrid Stunned By Kaka's Demands - Report
Greed is taking its toll as Kaka's father is asking the impossible from Real Madrid...
4 Jun 2009 14:35:32
Kaka's alleged move to Real Madrid was well on the way of being wrapped earlier today as AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani publicly declared that the Brazilian is most likely to leave Italy, whereas president Silvio Berlusconi said that the move was up to the player himself.
After the two clubs agreed a fee of €65 million, conflict has now arisen between Real Madrid and Kaka's representatives, who are making astronomical demands.
According to British paper The Mirror, Kaka's agent and father, Bosco Leite, is supposedly asking for a personal commission of €11.5 million, a sum that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez thinks is much too high.
Leite is also demanding a signing-on-fee of an additional €11.5 million, plus a transfer and €1.5 million for Kaka's younger brother Digao. This would make Real Madrid pay a total €89.5 million, a sum that would break the bank as the highest transfer in history.
Real Madrid have been taken aback after receiving these outrageous demands, and are unlikely to accede to the terms of the deal. Should this be the case, then Kaka will remain at Milan, having already declared earlier this week that he wants to stay put at his current club.
Kaka is in Brazil with the national team preparing for a World Cup Qualifier against Uruguay, and has not been given permission to leave the country to sign any deals.
He has also refused to make any comments about his situation, but the Spanish press are adamant that Kaka indeed wants Madrid, declaring to his friends, "Everything is almost done. I know that I will be going to Madrid. I am very happy."
The final decision concerning Kaka's future is expected to be revealed on Monday.

Zanetti was the best RB in the world, and still he went thru 10 seasons at Inter without a scudetto, a club at turmoil, when any top club in europe would have offered him more money (and some did).
How does that make Le Tiss a better example of loyalty??

Coming back to the Ibrahimovic/Etoo deal, I hope the lack of news really means it's dead, and it's not just due to the weekend. Mundo Deportivo had a "reconstruction" of the Laporta-Moratti meeting, where they stated that the two presidents discussed various possibilities such as:
- Straight up cash for Ibrahimovic, apparently Moratti asked for 50m
- Etoo + 30m for Ibrahimovic and Maxwell
- Etoo + 20m for Ibrahimovic
- Hleb ( ) , Toure ( ) also entered discussions
There was also one hitch in all this, which is assuming that Etoo would leave. Laporta admitted to Moratti that it would tough to make him do so, even to Inter.
So for now, I'm assuming Etoo will stay and we will look to get in another striker depending on budget.

There are only 3 clubs which could make a move for Ibra this summer IMO - Barca, Chelsea & Real.
Real are too busy with other targets, so I guess they will focus on Ibra only if they fail to land 2 of Kaka/CR/Ribery, if that indeed is their ambition. Chelsea is probably the most likely destination for Ibra, if he moves this summer. Mou is keen on some of their players, so its a possibility.... Barca, its a long shot. Unless Eto'o moves, I doubt this would happen.
