Because there is only one position in which Sneijder has shown any competence. If you want him for the wing you might as well put Faubert and that is not an exaggeration. Parejo is much more competent as CM and that is his natural position. And for the wider attacking positions, Robben can go to the right or C. Ronaldo. Sneijder has proven he can't.

It was very clear about Sneijder early on in his first season. Parejo seems to me like somebody who can play as a AM/LM/CM if needed as long he can play somewhat centrally since he has the football intelligence to make it work. I really hope we get rid of the dutchies except maybe Ruud who already sort of a club legend and the only reason I wouldn't mind leaving is that we would have too many strikers. Of course it depends if he is willing to play a less important role.

I disagree. First of all Parejo hasn't played in any pressure matches for us and until he does I don't think he can be judged to be good enough or not. IMO the best thing for him would be to loan him out and let him get some first team playing time with a Getafe or the like. Second, I think that Sneijder can play as a backup in those roles. Certainly in CM with Kaka and Ronaldo acting as the primary threats I think he can hold the fort. I really do think that he can be more than just Kaka's backup even if that's his primary role. He's versatile enough to do other things if the need arises. If Granero was recalled I would let Sneijder go but that doesn't seem to be in the plans.

I don't think the midget (or any other Dutch except for RvN and Drenthe) would be happy to be a "sub" when the WC is approaching...King Pipita wrote:I disagree. If that's the case he can go. But he's said that he wants to fight for his place and if he's willing to do that, I'd keep him. I'm not really averse to selling any of our non-starting XI so long as we're not getting ripped off.

Maybe we should just close down football and form one global club called 'Real Madrid' that everyone can play for?

I would prefer it if he goes to ManU. We don't need Ribery and he's way too expensive.
When will that Scottish drunken coach of yours wake up from his alcoholic haze and start signing people? If you tried hard enough you could have gotten one of Benzema or Ribery, and instead you got some mediocre Wigan player.

I would rather have Valencia for £16m than Ribery for around £40m.

I think you would be much better off with Ribery even at that price. At least those 40 million would come from a ridiculous transfer fee that Real Madrid gave you and ManU would get one of the best players in the world. Is Valencia really more than just a decent squad player? I think you have enough of those. What you need is to buy 1 or 2 stars IMO.

40 m on a 26 year old who may not adapt in England is risky, 2ndly he doesnt solve any of our problems of goal scoring.

But solves our wing problem for fraction that much, is still 23 and has played in EPL for 3 seasons.

Valencia is more of a Park replacement, who'll be Madrid's next signing to crack the Asian market.

Real are desperately trying to involve Sneijder in all kinds of deals (AC Milan, Bayern) or selling him flat out.
....yet the Midget won't be treated like merchandise : he's given Real the finger and says he refuses to move
VDV might be doing the same thing

Moves to AC Milan for both of them could be very productive.

Madrid can force them into a move by not registering them. Unlike other leagues, Spain has a restriction of 25 names per club for the first team. You can only bolster it by youth team players, up to a max. of 10 appearances per season. The worst Sneijder and VDV can do is force Madrid to still pay their high wages while they're on loan.

But this is a world cup year though. Players like Sneijder and VDV may play cute in the beginning but as the tranfer window closes and the club makes it clear that they are not needed I'm sure they will change their minds.

Nah, don't think so : Van Marwijk has already made his mind up about the players he's gonna use and he cares fuck all of they play for club or not.
Van Marwijk is a tactical disaster, but he's very clear in selecting players and giving them confidence
We might even go to the WC with fresh and uninjured players, instead of tired ones with lots of little pains

Don't worry Axe, even if they stay at Madrid they'll be free of any fatigue or niggles, because they'll always be on the bench anyway

Well, any player could get injured during training. (In Robben's case, warm-ups or even turning up to training ground could trigger an injury. )kas wrote:Don't worry Axe, even if they stay at Madrid they'll be free of any fatigue or niggles, because they'll always be on the bench anyway
