think you're right about him being II. They probably stopped naming them Ludwig thereafterSince 1888 wrote:De Guzman wrote:wasn't he the mad guy, who had Neu Schwannstein (sp?) build?
From the top of my head there were several Ludwigs (think he was Ludwig II), but the most famous one was indeed that one who built Neuschwanstein plus his personal villa Linderhof Castle which is actually pretty small for a castle.

Re: When will Bayern sack van Gaal ?
Ludwig was a bit of a castle-building dreamer
obsessed with Wagner
and
Swans
ended up committing suicide in Starnberger See
or getting killed
(because many people had an axe to grind about his way with money/debt)
van Gaal raving about the Franziskaner will raise a few eyebrows amongst sponsors though
in Munich, "pubs" are usually only offering beer by ONE brewery (or a few that belong to the same Group)
Franziskaner is part of the Inbev Group that also owns Spaten and Löwenbräu
Bayern Munich is sponsored by Paulaner though
anyway
van Gaal seems to be losing his way with Bayern
there simply is no progress
the first tie against Florence was a joke and only won because of the Klose/ref goal
then they lost against Florence in Italy
and the last Bundesliga game against Freiburg was VERY poor
the first half is seen as the worst Bayern half this season
usually , the team is bailed out by is piece of individual brilliance by Robben or Ribery
which has nothing to do with van Gaal either
+
van Gaal just cannot shake those defensive jitters
God knows what he is doing in training these days
he is still good in interviews though and does not buy any of the Robbery hype
when the German journalists raved about Robben once again he TOLD THEM OFF
and wondered whether they had seen Robben's first 45 minutes, where he was just WALKING AROUND
--------
meanwhile, Beckenbauer tells us that they are very happy with van Gaal but concedes that he was on THIN ICE
they agreed to give him UNTIL XMAS
NO MATTER WHAT
but clearly, alternative scenarios were already in development
the turning point, apparently, was the tie against Juve
media-wise
the van Gaal-show is now the Robben-show
anyway
manager-wise the talk is mostly about Magath these days

The King was succeeded by his brother Otto, but since Otto was genuinely incapacitated by mental illness, the king’s uncle Luitpold remained regent.

Someone who's enriching our language with new words like fußballen ("Wir haben diszipliniert gefußballt." ) deserves every award there is, IMHO.

You would have to change the tense:
Fußball gespielt
actually
but yeah, that would be the correct term

a DUTCH conspiracy
van Gaal fucks up and horseface saves the day for the Lederhosenmannschaft
van Gaal now ridicules Schalke and says (after their draw against the Holland Sport Verein)
"Schalke CANNOT deal with the PRESSURE"
considering that Bayern just lost against an injury depleted Frankfurt
that is truly

Judging this weekend results, van Gaal should indeed shut his big mouth.
But again it looks like the Bundesliga will be won by the least worse team instead of the best. Who it will be? No idea, but judging on the upcoming fixtures it wont be Bayern.

Re: When will Bayern sack van Gaal ?
Hitzfeld criticises vG's squad building
saying
a TOP TEAM like Bayern ALWAYS needs FOUR central defenders
Bayern only have THREE because vG sold Lucio and gave away Breno in the winter
a mistake the club is paying for big time now
+
Hitz believes the likes of Alba, 17 years old, may be HUGE talents
but are not YET good enough for the club to rely on them
Bayern should really only work with internationals, he believes
although, he made exceptions for the likes of Lell himself, me thinks
vG's response:
" I am not interested in the opinion of COLUMNISTS (like Netzer, Beckenbauer, Hitz..) who do not have the whole picture"
me thinks
vG's squad selection will indeed see him trip up
he is still thinking along the lines of managing AZ
NOT
a CL contender

Re: When will Bayern sack van Gaal ?
clownish performance by Bayern against WErder in the Cup Semi
just like under Klinsi, the players are now beginning to get WORSE
just take Lahm
he is almost a shadow of his former Hitzfeld self
relying on Robbery for ONE good moment per game may work most of the time
but
how is van Gaal going to fill an entire CHAPTER in his biography with THAT tactic ?
a DUTCH DISGRACE
and HE wants to manage the MANNSCHAFT

AWFUL football is a DUTCH speciality, ric
and you KNOWS it
you think of Rutten, Stevens, Koeman, van Basten, van Qual, Marwijk, Advocaat...
the GERMANS are great ENTERTAINERS
contrary to popular Dutch belief
Heynckes, Klopp, Tuchel, Schaaf...
HSV also starting playing attacking football under Labbadia
Jol DID not embrace attractive football AT ALL
+
German teams were never just ONE-or two-man teams like FC Robbery

PS I am still angry NOW

Ottolein,
See it from a positive perspective. If there wasn't a dutchie on the pitch last night you were still busy with taking penalties...
That would have had disrupted the whole german economy 'cause everyone was still watching the game and couldn't work....
As a result Germany turned out be a second Greece...

Ä wrote:clownish performance by Bayern against WErder in the Cup Semi
So we played Werder yesterday. Great, the final we'll play by ourselves then.
As for clownish performance: What I saw of the match was quite good from us. Schalke were ultra-defensive and disruptive for most of the match. We created a number of good chances nevertheless. Not sure what you expect. We won a cup-semifinal in a stadium we couldn't win in for years. It was a deserved victory too.
If Bayern's performance was clownish, what was Schalke's? They looked like Germany in 2002 minus Ballack/Klose.
Also: Not even Barca would have looked good on that pitch. It will be interesting to see if Schalke do anything about it until these two teams meet again. Probably not, it goes perfectly well with their 'style' and against the passing game Bayern wants to use.

Re: When will Bayern sack van Gaal ?
On the pitch, what else? Schalke in all their wisdom kinda copied the design of the Ajax stadium and build it for themselves. In Amsterdam they've had 50-odd pitches in 10-15 years, they all were crap. Not a surprise the design doesn't allow for a decent pitch in Gelsenkirchen either.
Such poor pitch quality is a disgrace indeed.
By the way from what I read/heard (from Germany) we (Schalke) hardly tried to do anything else bar making it as hard as possibkle for the opposition.
