Cech is the best keeper in the league by a strecth.
    Lehmann?

Maybe he's as good as a shot-stopper. But as an overall keeper Cech is way better IMHO.

crouch came on too late.. ill give you that one... but i really don't see the point in criticising rafa when we were

    a) the better team
    b) created nearly all the chances in the game
    c) only lost to a wonder goal and defended well for the whole of the game..

rafa can't be blamed for players missing sitters... don't want to be down on the team as i don't think anyone will play as well as that at stamford bridge all season in the league

So the problem wasn't that you didn't watch the game. It's just that you don't understand football?

Chelsea dominated possession first half little Ricky. Pray tell explain how that's "playing counter-attack football"?

Do you want an intresting stat Frank? Of course you do.

Gerrard has had 12-13 (I can't remember exactly) shots on goal in the league this season...

Would you like to guess how many have been on target?

One. That shot against Cech where it would have been harder to hit the back of the net.

I think just about everyone said he'd need an adaption period, which he's clearly having. I hope he starts actually playing soon though. The kid is awesome.

Not really... He didn't make any ridiculous claims like "chelsea just played counter-attack" when infact for half of the game they dominated possession and we were the ones playing counter-attack.

half +half = 1 isn't it...? so both played half counter attacking football! The game was mostly played at the midfield zone....

I never disagreed with that. I disagreed with Ricky acting like some spectre of knowledge acting as if Chelsea played counter-attack when they spent less of the game doing it than we did.

No, I only said If Crouch would have started the game Liverpool would have won it! He needs to get rythm to score the goals and he would have make a Bellamy/Kuyt to play better!

Obispo has shown, Gerrard is missing time and time again so that is no surprise any more!

Of course you are going to end up being the better team, as you played 40 minutes with an extra man. Had Sissoko been sent off when he should've, we'd have played 45 minutes with an extra man and then dominated the match imo.

Up until the Ballack sending off, no side had really dominated, but we'd had more shots, and a lot more possession, and probably deserved to be 1-0 up. After we had been playing 25-30 minutes with a man short, it became all one way traffic, with the last 10 minutes, being the only period I believe you actually really dominated.

my take on the first half was

-in the first 15 minutes we couldn't get the ball fo you but all you were doing was passing it about your back four with the odd hoof up to drogba...
    - the only way you were going to score was from a set piece and these were no doubt where these shots of yours have come from.. you certianly didnt create much through any footballing moves Wink
    - my view on it (obviously biased but was what i thought anyway) was that after the first 15 minutes all the pressure was from us, we got into some great situations and created the two outstanding chances of the first half from kuyt and gerrard... kuyt missed a sitter.. i thought we were the more threatening team and also were conceding practically no opportunites at the back... then drogba produces his moment of magic out of nothing and it is 1-0.. nothing we could have done about this goal at all. so i don't think chelsea really merited the lead in any way based on the way you performed but obviously the goal was special.

as for sissoko's sending off. what did he get the first yellow for.. I missed this? lucky to escape the second but he did go for the ball and it was an honest challenge.. ref gave him the benefit of the doubt thankfully.. we deserve some decisions against chelsea in the league.. after the lampard push yesterday im begining to think it is impossible for us to get a penalty against chelsea even for the most stonewall decisions

Sissoko should of been sent off twice.

A red for his lunge at Makelele, a yellow for his tackle on Lampard and another yellow for kicking the ball away.

Sissoko got a first yellow for showing all his studs, going into a tackle with Makelele (this was about 2 minutes before the trip on Lampard incident)

Everyone will have their own opinion (and it'll always be biased), and although I don't think we "dominated", as we'd had a lot more possession (even if we weren't splitting you open or anything) and had also had more shots, all on target (maybe 1 off I think) whereas you'd failed to hit the target (unless you count the bar as being on target).

Although you'd had the best chance to score, I just think we'd done more and 1-0 was probably deserved imo.

After the Ballack sending off, as expected, you controlled the game, and I really thought you were going to get something out of it.
