    lol i thought the same

no one can tell me that he is worse than mikel or ramires, and he would lead the current cheslea team, no doubt about that

he was always the best when fatty was injured, now his gone and i bet they already miss him

in the last years chelsea always had a great squad, the best with inter

but now they just have the youth, and even when cheslea is behind ancelloti dont use all 3 substituions, sometimes he only changes one player, and the youth is rotting on the bench

why wanna try to slim down the salary situation and dont trust on the youth

I don't think that was a pen for Chelsea.

I know that a foul is not like a handball - you don't need intent - but I actually think Anelka made contact with Howard rather than the other way round.

The ball gets knocked to Howard's left his eyes follow it and he then pretty much stops going forward - Anelka could have easily ran around the other side of him.

Its not like one of those where the keeper makes a challenge, misses the ball and takes the man - Howard makes no challenge.

    Ale

I thought the same. Anelka just poked it past him and then ran straight into Howard. If anything, it was a foul by Anelka. Then again, the default position on penalties seems to be if the attacker gets to the ball first, kicks it nowhere, and then dives through the keeper that it is a penalty, so by that standard it was the right decision.

Sammy boy Ale Haven't followed him all season. But both goals today are worth of ZZ's ball control.

The first maybe, but his touch for the second goal sent him so far wide and close to the touchline that he almost fucked it up and didn't get there in time to put it in the net.

    Definitely splitting hairs there Saints.

Agree with the two posts about the Chelsea penalty, not entirely sure what Anelka was doing, although it did seem to work. Though they could've had a penalty though for a foul on Cole (i think) before Everton equalised.

No I'm not. If his control was that good he would have simply round the keeper for a tap in. It wasn't, so he didn't. Two very nice goals, sure. From a very talented player, sure. But comparisons with Zidane are off the mark.

But I don't expect Arsenal supporters to be able to accept any caveats on their players' talent, so I'm probably wasting my time even posting this. If Cristiano Ronaldo had scored that goal during his time at Man Utd and was subsequently compared with Zidane, there would have been outrage on this board. Though no doubt Wenger would have tried to take the credit for discovering the player in the first place.

Interesting game so far. West Brom have dominated posession wise but haven't really tested Krul. Newcastle struggling to get out of their half.

Lazy performance even if their goal was offside. It was be nice if Andy Pandy would atleast try to be neutral though, he has actually been congratulating West Brom players for fouling Carroll and Jonas. He's fucking ridiculous.

Newcastle need to push higher up and press WBA more. Brunt, Dorrans and Morrison all have too much time and space on the ball.

If Hughton doesn't rate Best why spend £2m on him? Ameobi is fucking useless, the guy can't run. Guthrie has been shite aswell, he has forgotten how to weight a pass since he came back from injury, and neither Taylor and Campell can pass, they're the complete antithesis of Colo/Williamson - people should remember this the next time they criticise them for a lack of physicality.

I think Vuckic is worth a try in Bartons position, in the carling cup he looked a much better athlete than Routledge, I don't think he's seen as a forward though. Xisco I think has disappeared for the season.

Campbell has been awful, and stood back for both goals - one of a number of weak individual performances from Newcastle. Carroll, by no means the worst, does not look much like an international forward today. Tiote has done fine. Alan Smith's hair is unfortunately Beckhamesque.

Tchoyi (height, pace) did nicely on his goal, and has probably improved overall in the second half, but I'd not say he's a standout player in this side. Morrisson/Brunt much more important and Jerome Thomas has probably been the equal of Tchoyi today (no rly).
