@ pierre/Kimbo/Bernd - Dawson is comfortably our most overrated player. Both Assou-Ekotto and him were terrible in possession, constant pointless hoofing.

    Massive ask for 4th now.

Whoa, hold on - I'd like to know who is overrating him? All I hear is what a donkey he is, when it simply isn't true IMO. That isn't overrating him, it's giving him some due credit. Granted, wasn't anywhere near a sterling performance from him yesterday, but our entire back 4 were once again pretty appalling. Let's see what happens against Milan, as Dawson was superb over in the San Siro in the 2nd half in particular.

And as for BAE - perfectly sums him up. He's very comfortable on the ball, but then his distribution stinks on a regular basis. A pipedream, but if I were Harry I'd target Baines this summer along with a centre forward. Although by the end of this season his value is going to be unaffordable.

In other news - congrats to Liverpool and Sloth from the Goonies for scoring a hat trick. Really, more teams should be beating this United side. They are pretty average. So average infact that Fergie has just signed up Carrick on a long term contract.

He's the worst footballing centre back in the squad. I prefer players who have consistent quality on the ball and the ability to cover, track, intercept and tackle without constantly having to do it on the stretch due to poor positioning and awareness. He's good at what he does, and I'd keep him in the squad but in my eyes he's overrated by the press and Bob the builder at the pub/cafe - as are Carragher, Terry, Vidic and most other do or die centre backs.

So you think all white centrebacks are do or die? RACIST! Wink

I getcha. Although I'd have to argue with you on that assessment - he's a better footballer than Bassong. I see very little similarity between Dawson and Carragher / Vidic either. Those 2 are very one dimensional. He's more like Terry in that he's not the paciest but I believe both are much better footballers than their critics suggest. Anyway, I don't want this to build into an agenda as I'm aware of Dawson's flaws, and if we had all our defenders fit he wouldn't make the first team (King, Woody (God bless), Kaboul the top 3), but I have no issue personally with seeing him in the side. He's certainly not the weakness of the side when you consider our current left back (BAE), Bale-less left midfield and strikers are of far greater concern.

And if I were 'Arry I'd sign Baines in a heartbeat, provided it wasn't anything more than 15 million.

If we're saying Bale and Baines can't play together, I don't believe it for a second, 2 excellent left footers, one can always interchange with Lennon/Pienaar/Kranjcar on the right if it were required.

Consider as well if Bale leaves. Who else in the league can cross and deliver better set pieces from the left?

What is the hype surrounding Rodwell all about? I honestly haven't seen that much from him to say Everton can sell him for over 8 million.

Imagine how boring it would be if we all towed the same line Dimbo.

Kris is entitled to his opinion, and it ain't the first time we haven't agreed.

He thinks Pav is amazing whilst I think Pav is overrated by our lot.

He did stick up for Gomes though when the big nosed Brazilian was making our club a laughing stock, and in fairness he's done well, but again, pretty certain Kris and I don't agree on him either. Amazing shot stopper, but, as shown again this weekend, a fucking liability with the ball in the air

I'm not saying they can't play together, I'm saying that they won't be as sexi together as they could be in theory. And Bale interchanging always strikes me as a poor idea. Tottenham should either stick with BAE, or just find a better version of him.

He's young, English, quite versatile, most of the local big teams is sniffing around him and he once scored against MU. 20m at least Wink

As you're an Everton fan, I read this as "stay the fuck away from Baines" Laughing

Fair enough. It'd piss me off people talking as though one of our best players is definitely going.

If you listen to the chatter, we're losing Bale in the summer.

We won't sign Baines anyway, pipedream, unless Bale goes and we have a shedload of cash. Part of me hopes he doesn't leave Everton though as he's progressing excellently, and I like Everton.

If Bale would leave, than I can see Baines being an interesting option for Spurs, even him playing with Pienaar would be a good option, as I think they can replicate their magic on higher level than Everton was last few years.
It won't be easy to get him though - not only Moyes will put some crazy price tag on him, but Baines really in today's world looks like a rare example of player who is happy where he is at the moment. Definitely don't see him leaving abroad, but top english teams probably have a decent shot on getting him. And he definitely deserve to play in better team that Everton is current season...

Chelsea leads 1:0 after Terry scored from a corner, but Blackpool is pushing heavily for an equaliser, David Luiz twice was easily skinned by hosts and Puncheon shot from outside the box hit the post, with Cech not doing a good job at all with that attempt.

Havent Chelsea just scored two since Drogs went off?

Not saying either are better here to be honest..both are seeming to be pretty poor.
