I wonder if Wenger was watching Modric's performance and thinking "furrrrk moi, I got zat one wrong isn't it?".

Because Wenger didn't think Modric could cut it physically in the Premier League.

Watching him keep hold of the ball whilst bouncing off meaty challenges from all angles, (with Djorou resorting to scything him down unceremoniously in the second half), dusting himself down and getting on with it MUST have grated on Arsene. Given how he ended up with Rosicky and Arshavin - 2 similar players who are completely incapable of coping with the demands of English football, one a perma crock and the other as lazy as they come.

That is certainly one Wenger fucked up royally. And signing Diaby

You definitely made that point about 3 months ago and everyone agreed with you.

If it makes you feel any more smug, I was thinking that Modric would really solve our problems with passing in the final third at the moment that comes with playing Nasri and Walcott on the wings.

    Laugh

Not smug. I must admit, I forgot we'd had this conversation before.

If it's any consolation, 'Arry must have watched Crouch / Defoe / Keane's performances this season, looked at RVP in comparison last night (who cost a fraction of their collective price) and thought "fack me, I got this well wrong innit"

Well it's not like 'arry ever had a chance to sign RVP so not exactly the same. Earlier in the season we might've said Chamakh is one he missed out on that would've been good (or at least better than the strikers he has), but that guy seems to have vanished after starting season well. He injured or what?

He wasn't even on the bench last night. He hasn't really been playing since early December – not used the chances he has been given. Maybe it was the blackmail about the Vegas orgy stressing him out. Or Fey's suggestion.

Nah, just shit. Once he stopped getting penalties for obvious dives and the tap-ins dried up, he stopped scoring. 1 goals in his last 19 appearances, and that was against Leyton Orient. He doesn't even have an Eduardo-style injury as his excuse, he's just shit.

And in the absence of an Eduardo-style injury, this is the bullshit Arsenal supporter excuse of choice. Of the 19 games mentioned above, he has played 17 from mid-December onwards. 3 in December from the 13th onwards, 5 in January, 4 in February, 4 in March. He's getting regular football, no doubt about it, he's just not very good. No surprise really, his goal return in France was only about 1 every 4 games. But that won't stop Arsenal fans from telling bare-faced lies.

Another listless performance from Pav, but at least Crouch seemed to care about the game...

Also can't wait until we get Kyle Walker again... though Kaboul seemed to do alright at RB!

Kyle Walker would be perfect for the type of narrow midfield system Harry has experimented with.

Corluka was shocking (What the fuck was he doing just standing there on the 3rd goal whilst the CB's & Gomes were scrambling like mad to stop the situation!), and whilst Kaboul is beastly, he's still a CB by nature and looked awkward at times out there. Gallas and Dawson were very ropey.

He's very Glen Johnson. I think he's a big prospect but his inexperience shows at times in the runs and passes he sometimes chooses to make. He'll cost goals but also make them, so it's a trade-off!

Yes. No other set of fans gives every fucking player a shitty nickname to make up for the fact the club has no soul, no character and no tradition. No other set of fans so hypocritically hypes up their own players only to boo them out of the club as scapegoats when things go wrong.

To be honest Saint's, if you wanted to engage in actual debate from time to time, I personally, as would others, be far more receptive to discussing various problems of Arsenal football club with you. But, it ultimately ends up a pattern of two things you've already outlined.

    1) Insulting Arsenal fans for having the nerve to support the football club
    they're all c**ts

    or

    2) Playing the role of the victim, and portraying yourself as a lone crusader against, what I can only presume in your eyes is a club run by people on par with Kim Il-Sung.

    Saints says something about Arsenal.
Arsenal fans have a go at Saints and dismiss his opinion as pure bias.
The thing Saints said turns out to be true.
Arsenal fans start saying the thing Saints said all along.
Saints points this out to them.

Each time I even bother having a discussion with you, one of these two lines is followed. So why bother?

Ask yourself, honestly, who it is that has driven the exchange to this point. Is it me, one person, offering opinions that mostly turned out to be true? Or is it the 20 or more Arsenal fans singing from the same hymn sheet of horse shit?

Why bother? I dunno. The only responses I get from your lot are the ones outlined above. I'm still waiting for one single instance of an Arsenal fan admitting that in fact I was right all along - about Wenger, about numerous players, about the transfer strategy, about the direction of the club. Tacitly, this has happened a thousand times, as you're all now saying what I said five years ago. But not once has even one of you said 'you know what, even though he acts like a c**t towards us, he was actually right about a few things'.

You might think this is me playing the victim but it isn't. I haven't in any way suffered because of this. I'm just saying that if you weren't all a bunch of c**ts, then this would happen at least once. It doesn't happen, therefore I'm still justified in thinking you are all c**ts.

    Simples.

On the face of it, I will concede to you, that you were right about Denilson and he has turned out to be shit. If you wish to make a presentation of other things you feel you were right about, please do so, and if I agree, i'll admit to you being right.

It's quite amusing to see a generally intelligent young man among whose several flaws one would not normally list difficulty in English comprehension so ruined by obsession that he jumps in excitedly at the opportunity for another aggressive attack (and what "shit nickname", is this, I wonder?) without properly reading what was said. If "hasn't really been playing" wasn't unambiguous in itself, the meaning should have been perfectly obvious from the context - "not used the chances he has been given" and the speculation as to the reasons for his spectacular loss of form, a point I've made on here before.

You can imagine how this looks. I'd suggest a rethink of your priorities and perspective might be in order.
