Underrated players.

Samaras - People like to try and make out he is some kind of Donkey who can't play football,maybe this is down to the fact that he doesn't score much because for the last 2 years he has played a wide role for both club and country and his finishing is pretty poor for a striker but he is good at running the channels – fast, strong, skillful and can hold the ball-up very well. As “isolated” forwards go, on his day he’s as capable as they come.So far in the Euros he has been excellent for the most part,especially yesterday.He always provides a outball and he will hold the ball up for a long time with his very good close control and quick thinking to relieve pressure off his team.His work rate off the ball is brilliant as well,his feminine demeanor makes me laugh sometimes lol he seems like such a nice guy.

Bentner - Underrated at Arsenal despite some people saying he was shit,he was often played out of position in a wide role or with another forward but he is best played as a lone striker.He is at his best when he plays for the Great Danes,he holds the ball up well,has a physical presence and uses it to effect in the opponents penalty area.20 goals in 50 games for a largely average international team is a great record.

Big George is awesome, its just that he plays for Greece and celtic so is surrounded by hoofers.

He is also very creative and I'd like to see him play as the 1 in a 4-2-3-1 where at least 2 of the 3 have the quality and pace to get beyond him, he would come into his own then.

There is a bit of skill followed by an outrageous pass that he did for Scott Brown in an old Firm game but I can't find it because Brown fucked up the easy chance so not on YouTube.

Finishing is shit, as you say but should move to Italy or back to EPL

Aaron Lennon is underrated IMO. Has improved his game to be able to mix it up and come inside and threaten more, but a lot of people dismiss him as a speed merchant with a shit final ball.

He's always been able to pick some lovely round-the-corner passes.

His main problem is goals, or more specifically, a lack of.

Ashley Cole is underrated because he's sub-human, but he's the greatest LB in England's history IMO.

Cabaye - he's already in a level not far from Xavi/Swine/Pirlo. Far better than Modric

Ribery - everytime I hear he's shit. But this season for Bayern followed by his form for France should put him comfortably ahead of Robben

Mertesacker - Germany's best CB and easily one of the defenders of the decade. With Hummels-Badstubber, they will not reach finals like in 2008.

Joe Cole - Comfortably England's best playmaker in last 2 decades, not Paul Scholes

Don't think there is any doubt that A Cole is our best LB ever.

Pearce would get the public vote but that's more for his reaction to scoring pen v Spain

I think Joe Cole has always been overrated,the others maybe but not to the extent you are suggesting.

Joe Cole has never impressed me on a consistent basis,never held down a regular place in Chelsea or us(Liverpool).

Cabaye is underrated but no way is he well better than Modric and close to the best CM's in the world,I would say he is at Modrics level but no better.

Mertesacker is a good defender but nothing special,I think Hummels and Badstuber have more potential than him.

I've never heard anybody else say rate these players so hightly.

Jordan Henderson. People claim he looks like a dog that has woken itself up by farting loudly, but he is a far better player than Modric.

Yeah, no one agrees with me. So yes, they're not rated highly. But they should be.

Agree about Bendtner - he's twice the player most fans/pundit/media think he is, but he also 1/10th as good as what he thinks of himself.

Scholes isn't a creative genius as you make out. He's actually a lob-pass-the-ball-to-flanks kind of player. Not quite centrally inclined. Not one to build up with short passes, doesn't make plays for me. It's not only a problem for United but also for England, he's hardly been an answer. Fergie's clever, he buys loads of good wide players to compensate for lack of playmaking centrally. Joe Cole easily one of the modern MFs back then. Would have played centrally today, but not when he started, it seemed improbable. Bet you even Wilshere would be a wide player if he started like Cole.

Merte one of the CBs in this era is proved by his track record for Germany and winning Pokal with Werder (scoring in Semi). What has Ledley King done for you to rate him like he's Paul Mcgrath mark II?

This is what I have been saying for ages and everybody laughed at me,Scholes has never had the vision or the composure to pull off world class through balls like Pirlo or Xavi.He is also relativley average compared to Pirlo and Xavi when it comes to dribbling out of tight spaces.

Few more goals? They both scored 4, I think. Also not only for Cabaye's more assists. But for finding space, getting into pockets in between lines, all-round defensive capabilities (twice the succ. tackle + Interception), and less apparent to the eye, leadership, that also Pirlo/Xavi/Swine exhibit.

Mikel - Some people think he's shit for some reason but I think he is very good especially considering he is only about 24.Huge physical specimen with decent pace and his positioning in front of the back 4 is good and he tries to keep it simple like Busquets,that's why these types of players are nearly always underrated because they have a very simple yet very effective game.

Thought he was Chelseas most underrated player in their CL campaign.He is also decent technically,easily better technically than Essien has ever been for example.I think Chelsea should keep him,they would be stupid to let him go.
