I was secretly hoping Madrid will ship him out to us and replace him with Suarez or Falcao. Why has he still not signed a contract if he's staying for sure? He's only got about a year left on his contract.

    Congrats btw  <Ale>

Sounds like Ancelotti could well lose both of his assistants. Zidane we know has ambition to manage and there were negotiations with Bordeaux although it seems that option will not materialise. Now it seems Paul Clement also wants to pursue being a #1 somewhere. Hard to know exactly how much impact those two had. Obviously Zizou is well respected by everyone at the club but I don't know how much tactical insight or man management he was actually offering.

There have been rumours that Arsenal representatives have been in Madrid to discuss the transfer of an "attacking player", which would suggest that it would be either Benzema or Di Maria.

I wouldn't be surprised if Benzema sold, provided that RM are able to line up a replacement prior to his sale. Whilst it has been his best season at Real Madrid, he still has been very inconsistent throughout the season.

The orange wouldn't have been too bad as a one off if it didn't make us look like Valencia ffs. The pink though honestly...................

Supposedly adidas has these market researchers to tell teams what color to make the shirts so that everyone will buy it.

But the away kit has gone from Red to green to orange to pink now. Just bring back the traditional black or blue away kit. Even the purple that kelme put out in the 90s was somehow better than this garbage.

The blue and black were fine but not to fond of the green and orange. I will stand out here and say that I actually don't mind this pink one although it might look different when I see them play in it.

    RE:Varane

We simply can't let Varane go!!!
My Varanephilia led me to promise my friends at the beginning of the season that I would never support Real Madrid again if they let go of the best defensive talent the club has had in my lifetme(Hierro excluded). At the time it didn't occur to me that Pepe would ever recover, and better, his old form. Not sure who to blame if Varane leaves. The club or Mourinho for enticing him away. I hope that the apparent first choice of Terry-Cahill will convince him it isn't worth it even if Terry will probably not survive more than a season as a starter.

There have been rumours that the club is very concerned about the condition of Varane's knee. Ancelotti, of course, prefers experienced CBs. That coupled with Jose's interest might lead to a move. Still, it makes little sense. He looked fine in the CL final. Nacho (bless him) can't be the 3rd choice. Anyone else is going to cost a lot more than the €10m we paid for him.

I think with him and Jese (hopefully recovered!) we would have two guys that can fill in anywhere across the front line.

Wouldn't mind having Jese/Vela/Isco on the bench because they can all cover across the board. But I still think we should get another striker even if we get Vela. Would very much like a tall striker as an alternative. When are behind we still have problems creating clear chances by simply passing so it helps to have an alternative for Di Maria/Marcelo/Carvajal to aim for. Doesn't even have to be a great player. Wouldn't mind keeping Morata and getting Vela as well.

So Coentrao is staying it seems because he is getting a new contract. This is great news because now we get to retain 2 good leftbacks that compliment each other very well.
