Re: Real Madrid CF 2013/14
This is great for the young players in particular and I think Zidane needs more than just one year next to Ancelotti. And I worry what would happen to Benzema without Zizou holding his hand.Zidane insists he is staying at Real Madrid
Real Madrid assistant coach Zinedine Zidane has vowed to stay at the UEFA Champions League winners for the foreseeable future.
Zidane was linked with a return to his native France throughout the final stages of the 2013-14 season, with Ligue 1 club's Monaco and Bordeaux potentially offering the 41-year-old a route into management.
Former team Bordeaux, where Zidane spent four years before joining Juventus, were close to prizing the Frenchman away from Madrid after president Jean-Louis Triaud admitted negotiations had taken place.
But speaking to La Sexta after the 'legends' match between Real and Inter Milan, Zidane outlined his intention to continue working in Spain, having just completed his first season as Carlo Ancelotti's right-hand man.
"Right now I'm here and I am going to continue at Real Madrid. We'll see what happens...", he said.
"I'm enjoying my first experiences of coaching – it's not quite the same as playing but I'm enjoying it."

Agree. I would like to see Ancelotti complete his contract which would be until the end of the 2015/16 season and then probably Zidane would be ready to take the reins.
Also, Ancelotti has confirmed that Morata is leaving this summer to find more playing time. He said the club will sign another striker but that it will be of the same "profile" as Morata: young (and inexpensive). There are zero candidates in Castilla at the moment. Been linked with this Argentine guy called Juan Iturbe who plays in Italy. Don't know anything about the guy but Ancelotti was pretty clear that with Bale, Benzema, Ronaldo, and Jese there is an excellent group of forwards and that even though someone like Luis Suarez is great "there isn't room for everyone".
He also said that Nacho for sure is staying and that he loves the kid for his work rate and his versatility.

More from Ancelotti:
Casillas is very happy at Real Madrid and will continue next year.
Unlikely to be any signings until after the World Cup.

Morata needs playing time and he might turn out to be another Soldado so we should definitely keep him around. I actually like Nacho even if he is very plain to most. You need those types as well and I can't remember him letting us down so he deserves it. A good loyal footsoldier
Re: Zidane
If he is willing than that would be perfect but I doubt he would stay more than one season if he feels ready. I suspect that there were good options he might have gone this summer.

Reliable is the best word for him. And I mean it in the best way possible. It's like you say, nothing spectacular but you can count on him to not screw things up. He doesn't bitch about playing time, he just does his job.

Villarreal want Morata on loan. To me this is the perfect scenario. Rather than him going to Arsenal or Juventus where is just going to sit on a different bench, if he goes to Villarreal he will really play and be a central figure in a very good team, he'll play Europa League, etc. Perfect place for him to see how good he really can be.

From Villarreal perspective - I also would want him very much. Not sure about him playing together with Uche or Perbet, but together with Gio he should make a good forward duo.Jaime wrote:Villarreal want Morata on loan. To me this is the perfect scenario. From what I've read the biggest obstacle with Morata going out on loan is Real expecting that he will sign a new contract before that - they don't want to lose him for free next year.

Sergio Ramos is going to sign a new deal after the World Cup, extending his current deal through the end of the 2018/19 season. He will also get a significant pay increase making him the third highest earner behind Ronaldo and Bale.

Re: Real Madrid CF 2013/14
The Morata saga continues on. He wants to leave to find minutes, that much has been clear since the end of the season. Several destinations have been rumoured. The biggest obstacle is that RM want to include a buyback clause in any transfer. Some of the clubs, Arsenal in particular, that are interested in Morata are refusing. So Madrid have put a 30m price tag without the buyback clause or 18m with a buyback clause (probably in the neighborhood of 26m). Loan is still a possibility if Morata were to stay in Spain.
Lots of rumours of who could replace him: Benteke, Volland, Lukaku, and Iturbe all mentioned in AS today. No way will it be Lukaku, that is the whole reason he is leaving Chelsea, he wants to be the man. Benteke, I would have thought, will be in the same situation. Volland no idea about him and the same for Iturbe although I was looking at his stats and 8 goals in 33 matches at Verona is not that spectacular.

Hmmmmmmmmm....apparently Benzema is asking for the club to double his wages (pushing it up to 9m/season) in order to renew his contract which runs out next year. I know he has Zidane in his corner but I wonder if Florentino will go for that.

Re: Real Madrid CF 2013/14
Marca have a big article today claiming that Iñigo Martínez is on the radar in the case that Pepe or Varane leave. Both have been linked with moves away. Pellegrini wants Pepe in City and Jose wants Varane in Chelsea. Pepe has had a great season but with his age if City came with a big offer, I would be ok with selling him. And Varane, I want to keep him for sure, but there are still rumours about his knee not being 100%. Iñigo is really good. Super will hate buying another Spanish guy but I think it would be a great move if one of the others leaves.

Varane must I repeat MUST stay, even if there are so called doubts about his knee. His current ability and potential is worth the gamble. It would be a monumental fuck up letting him go and one the will be regretted for years.
On another note our players have been shocking so far in the World Cup. Only Benzema has performed so far.

Sounds like Castilla have a decent chance of staying in Segunda because Osasuna, Zaragoza, and Murcia are all in danger of being relegated over their financial problems. Also, it sounds like Zidane is going to be the manager of Castilla. Wonder if Enzo will make the team????

Casemiro sold to Inter for 5m euro. Buyback clause included for the next two seasons (6m euro).
I can only assume they are selling Casemiro (and if Marca is to be believed, Khedira as well) because the club is planning on signing Kroos or Pogba or Vidal...someone along those lines.
Cheryshev who was on loan at Sevilla last term is going on loan to Villarreal for next season.

Re: Real Madrid CF 2013/14
I may have jumped the gun on Tassotti. That's what they said on a Danish Madrid site.
Wouldn't mind keeping one of Casemiro/Khedira. Doesn't make sense to me to buy another Dm unless we get somebody who is cheap and can do what Khedira can't(technique and pass). Otherwise we should have stuck with Casemiro for another year. By then Illarramendi could show whether he has what it takes and if not we could go away from having 2 central midfielders who specialize in passing and revert to a more natural mix. Not sure those options are optimal though. Kroos is best higher up the field and Pogba is the same. Vidal could play the role seeing as he can do everything but I would prefer somebody who sits infront of defence more like Alonso but unfortunately I can't think of too many who would live up the billing at the moment. My favourite(Matic) is off the table now.

Re: Real Madrid CF 2013/14
Can't we have one summer without signing somebody for the starting line up?
Getting worried with the talk of Di Maria leaving. Unbelieveably stupid but wouldn't put it past Perez. Always responding to the recent hype and at the moment it seems to be Rodriguez. For Colombia he gets a free role to roam but we already have Ronaldo doing that for us while Di Maria is an absolute workhorse who can play midfielder and winger at the same time. That gives us an unique tactical advantage that teams aren't used to facing. Kroos would be stupid to even if I rate him highly. He needs the Modric role or even higher up and presumably he would have to take over from Alonso which would relegate him to too defensive a position.

Re: Real Madrid CF 2013/14
Of course it's all just speculation.
But there are doubts about Casemiro, Khedira, Di Maria, Modric and Illarra so potentially we have almost no midfielders. I've not seen James Rodriguez for Monaco or Porto to know if he has tactical discipline. Like you say, for Colombia he plays the free role so we'd have to see how he could fit into Ancelotti's system. Of course the good thing is that Ancelotti is quite flexible so I think if we signed James Rodriguez, Ancelotti can find a place for him. Kroos I think is pretty versatile so he can fulfill several different roles in a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3.
