He's an idiot and to be honest with you I'd happily sell him right now - it's got to a stage where he's a liability for the club but I can't see why we should have to pay for something he did with Uruguay.

Not only is he going to miss key games for us (again) but we won't be able to sell him either. Where's our compensation for that?
Maybe if your club didn't defend him when he first acted up he might have learnt his lesson.

Anyway, I would recommend to all to read the ESPN article on Suarez which delves into his upbringing and tries to understand why he's the way he is. It's brilliant and doesn't defend him but still gives a genuine human angle to it all. If I were a Liverpool supporter I'd be quite inclined to support him (not defend him) after reading the article. It's a GREAT football/human story.

Probably shouldn't have kept him after the racism and then the biting incident.. He deserves the ban. Fuck the teams he plays for

Many people said he was a disgrace for biting Ivanovic - but you still stick by your best player like United fans did when Cantona kicked a fan. Behind closed doors Rodgers will have gone to town on him and he'll have had the help needed - hence why he didn't do nothing extreme this season.

His actions now have nothing to do with us as a club - why should we have to miss our best player and not have the chance to sell him either?

Why was he not banned for Uruguay when he bit Ivanovic?

I can no longer defend the man, his actions have been disgraceful and selfish but it doesn't excuse the fact that FIFA have acted illogically here.

If you didn't want this you shouldn't have stuck by him and given him a big new contract. Same with us when we signed Barton and he got sent to prison, we made our bed.

I expect Liverpool could sue Suarez for compensation if they want.

As a club we tried to help him and it looked like it had worked - he didn't do anything controversial all season. You stick by your best player, simple as that, especially when they are as good as him.

This time though he has gone too far. He has had no regard for club or country and has refused to accept responsibility.

Still, it doesn't make sense that we have to pay for it - we aren't responsible for his behaviour while he's with Uruguay surely. Club level fair enough, we would be responsible because we are the ones who have a team of people trying to help him.

We can get compensation from Suarez but where does that help us in terms of results? We're going to be far worse off without him or the money we could have got from his sale to help buy another good forward.

I don't blame Liverpool for sticking by him, and I won't blame them for sticking by him this time. Suarez is one of the worst scumbags in the sport, but there are plenty of them about, and I don't see any teams making apologies for it.

Suarez is an employee of Liverpool, if he bit someone on the street Liverpool would suffer, nevermind the pitch. If a key employee misbehaves away from his workplace his employer might suffer for it, that's the price you pay, and the fact that we all know his history doesn't leave much sympathy for Liverpool.

Did I ever say Brazil had no divers? What I said was: every country has divers in football, not only S Americans.

"strange to see a tropical place where its darker outside"

Which of the dozens of Brazils are you seeing? We have cities at 35 degrees (north) and zero degrees (Southern Hills) at the same time. In the North, the sun always sets around 6pm. In São Paulo, between 6pm and 8pm, depending on the season.

Brilliant indeed....but would it have killed them to name FC Groningen  Evil or Very Mad

FC Groningen came to Uruguay to sign another player who had been scouted several times.

The chairman (Hans Nijland) had to sign and came along, to view to player a final time....and in that match they spotted Suarez, abbandoning all thoughts of signing the other player. Nijland claimed that they'd never signed a player after watching him for just one match, let alone a record transfer fee (for FC Groningen that was) of 1.5M dollars. Yet they were so convinced of his qualities, that they made the gamble.

It helped that we already had a Uruguayan player at FC Groningen (Bruno Silva) who acted as a father/brother for Luis : he was fenomenal for us. He did dive sometimes (but never as much as he did at Ajax or Liverpool), but otherwise there was no sign of madness....

    4. Someone going studs 1st on to my shin/ankle with force

I would take the 1 and 2 anyday over 3 and 4 yet the 3/4 seem worse to many - diving or pulling someone's shirt at a corner is probably considered worse thatn 3/4 in this country !!!

I kind of agree with you, but 3 and 4 are somehow seen as part of football, and things that can happen "during an honest challenge". Commentators always say thing like "you can't jump without using your elbow on someone's face for leverage", and "you can see he was going for the ball" or "he's an honest player" right after someone gets their leg snapped in half.

You just can't say the same for biting or spitting. One other thing I would say is that his bite didn't change the game in any way, whereas a dive does, so is the biting even as bad as the diving he does?

That's the 2nd time you've asked about someone slipping a finger up your arse, is there something you want to tell us?

Anyway I've broken my nose more than 10 times, and I always lead with my elbow, only way to avoid getting hurt is to go harder than the other guy. So yes I'd prefer the elbow to the nose, I'd just break it back straight and carry on once the blood stopped.

Oh yes, "best world cup ever", when no-one cares who is playing and what's going on this match day

Russia not going through will f#ck up my predictions, but Algeria are deserving it : best African country this WC....or should I say the only good team from Africa this WC ?

Had I realised Capello was Russia's manager I'd never predicted them to get out of the group.
