The reason Poldi hasn't played much for Bayern is Magath. Simple as that.

If Poldi played, which didn't happen often, he did quite well. He scored an important goal for Bayern in the cup, just 20 seconds after he came on the pitch, kicking out my beloved St. Pauli Crying or Very sad. An he scored another goal against Inter for them, a great one as well. Similar situation there: He just came on the pitch, and scored.

Don't even want to mention his matches for the Mannschaft, and for Cologne before he moved to Bayern.

Poldi just turned 21 (he is a few months older than Rooney AFAIK), and Schweini just turned 22. Both could still play for the U21 Mannschaft, for example.

I think poldi has got something; u can see that when he is the box for example, he can just turn quickly and shoot with his left. He is also very composed infront of goal- good finisher.

Messi is extremely talented but i think he's just too one- footed. I have seen him in situations where it was better to use his right but he always tried to turn on his left . most smart defenders can easily deal with that by blocking his left side and i am sure he will start getting problems the more defenders take note of that. I think i started noticing that in the valencia match recently.

Cesc fabregas is the most intelligent one among the lot but i think wenger is doing to him what he did to henry at monaco ie playing him out of position. He is clearly not a DM and i believe he will be out of this world if he is played regularly in a more attacking role. I would rate him , ronaldo, rooney and messi on he same level with robinho and poldi just below. Robinho hasn't improved at all since he went to madrid.

Well, Fabregas is the first name on Arsenal's teamsheet and leading goal scorer for midfielders, while Ronaldo is the first name on Man U's teamsheet and their most important player.

Rooney scored 23 goals and got 16 assists last season and played a vital role in Man United winning the league.

He's just scored 3 goals in 3 games after recovering from injuries.

    He's basically sh*t.

    Dont rate Rooney that high.

Man utds best player last season was Ronaldo. Take him out and they would have been nowhere near the title.

Until recently went 3 years without scoring in the CL or for England in competitive games.

Still young though and may in time get to Cescs and Ronaldos level

Well a little harsh on Rooney, but the rest is probably correct. Robinho has certainly lost his place alongside such names. I don't think you can include him among top players under 23 anymore. Rooney is a difficult one he has his moments, but he isnt exactly man of the match material every game, he is a few years younger than robinho though.

    ok
We have been waiting for Rooney to play like he did in the EURO2004 forever now, but i guess he was overperforming in that tournament. He is proving to have reached his prime as i don't see anything that might suggest he'll get better.

He won't improve physically, he's a very good finisher already, he won't get more pacy than he is now, and he definitely won't develop new dribbling skills. Or what is it that we think he should work on so he can improve and become world-class? Age doesn't mean anything.

Difference between him, Ronaldo and Fabregas is that the latter still have things to improve on.

What's with all this Rooney bashing?!

He scored 22 goals last season, got well into the teens in assists and in the last three months of the season was better than 'best player in the world' Ronaldo! This season he's started to do well again after recovering from his injury. I have no reason to beleive that he won't develop into a world class footballer in the next few years.

He was one of only two players that managed 4 goals in the CL knockouts last season. ok

He does have football brain and i think he uses it too much which leads to him not being selfish enough (for a striker) to want to score goals rather than create for teammates. Whenever he gets the ball he doesn't think 'i can score from here', he first looks for teammates, i guess that's his football brain. So he needs to be selfish like Pippo Inzaghi, but can he be?

Consistency, in his fourth/fifth season at the highest level he should be consistent. And please don't bring up the age issue because we know football has a lifespan and he is already midway in his lifespan. His career started early like L Ronaldo and Del Piero, and from what we seen from them then Rooney is very likely to be in his prime. If that's the case then he is already as consistent as he can get.

Euro 2004 tells us that he matured too early for his age. That performance was from someone who is matured.

Truly speaking, if Rooney was from Nigeria then we would be going through his birth certificates.
