Re: European Transfer Rumours
The weekly Ronaldinho to Milan rumour is floating about again, even though this time it's come up due to a(nother) denial by Galliani.
If I was an Arsenal fan, I guess this is the point where I start complaining about how other clubs are constantly unsettling my player (coughHenrycough)

Re: European Transfer Rumours
Galliani: AC Milan fans deserve special signing
AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has promised supporters "a special present" for the January market, though admits it's unlikely to be Barcelona superstar Ronaldinho.
Galliani said: "Ronaldinho? I want to say a big thank-you to the tifosi of Milan and for sure they deserve a special present.
"But that cannot be Ronaldinho, because it appears to me that Barcelona will not sell him.
"But for sure, our tifosi deserve to be rewarded for the passion that they have shown in their support of Milan, equally as much for when we win as when we lose."
----------------------------------------------------------------------
i'm guessing that the special signing will be a striker, but who?
maybe Rodrigo Palacio, Gonzalo Higuain or Iaquinta.

Re: European Transfer Rumours
Hughes would consider Beckham move
Blackburn manager Mark Hughes says he would be interested in signing David Beckham, if the former England captain decides to leave Real Madrid.
The Spanish club are believed to have offered a two-year extension to Beckham's current contract which expires at the end of the season, but the midfielder is believed to be frustrated with the lack of first-team opportunities, and is stalling on signing any new deal.
Hughes, a former team-mate of Beckham's at Manchester United, admits that he would face stiff competition for Beckham if he came available, but still admits he is intrigued by the possibility.
"I think everybody would be interested in Beckham," Hughes admitted.
"You have to cut your cloth accordingly and I am sure if he came on the open market there would be a few people in the queue for him.
"Everybody considers top-class players and we have thrown our hat into the ring for big-name players in the past.
However, Hughes also admitted that he would have to consider whether making an expensive move for Beckham would be wise given Blackburn's limited budget.
"I have different priorities in different places, I have got to look at the strength of the squad as a whole.
"Obviously quality players like David Beckham coming on to the market would interest anybody, although it may be the right player at the wrong time."

Re: European Transfer Rumours
Man Utd to launch £22M January move for Torres
Manchester United are on the verge of a £22 million January deal for Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres.
The Sun says United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is close to a deal with Atletico Madrid for the Spanish international.
Torres, 22, is likely to switch to Old Trafford in the January transfer window, four years after Fergie first set his sights on the hitman and after three failed bids.
Torres has suffered in Atletico's failing season and is torn about leaving them in a crisis.
But Atletico are willing to part with their star player so they can buy new blood in the window.
Torres signed a new contract last summer as United and Arsenal courted his signature - but part of the deal saw his buy-out clause reduced.
Torres is the perfect replacement for Ruud van Nistelrooy as his physical presence and skill make him ideal to lead the line.
And with Fergie getting the green light from the Glazer family to launch a bid for £16m-rated Bayern Munich and England midfielder Owen Hargreaves - it could see United's January splurge top £38m.
The arrival of Torres means Fergie is ready to let Alan Smith go out on loan.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How true do you think this rumour is?
Atletico do need to sign some players in January because of the bad luck they have had injuries this season but they did spend a lot of money in the summer, does this mean they would have to sell before they can buy again?
Torres has only scored 2 goals in 8 games for Atletico Madrid this season, so would they really miss him?

I think Torres will end up in AC Milan, maybe not this year, but then the next.. It has been in the cards forever, and Torres would suit the Serie A much better than the Premiership..

Re: European Transfer Rumours
i don't think it matters if Smith leaves or stays. Man Utd still need to sign a top quality striker. if Rooney or Saha got injured then Man Utd would be in big trouble.
i think the Premiership has a bigger appeal to players now instead of Serie A, plus Milan might not even finish in the top 4 this season which would mean no Champions League money.
and i can't see them spending over £20m on Torres when the player they really want is Ronaldinho.

Re: European Transfer Rumours
AC Milan and Atlético have a special relationship, which would facilitate the transfer, and Torres would fit in better in Italian society than English.
You have to figure that this kid could very easily turn into another Reyes, as he has been the some place always, is still quite young and has enjoyed a, sometimes incomprehensible, special stauts at his club. Moving to England would mean a lot of adversity from day one.

We also seem to forget that with Petrov and Maxi out for another 4 months or so, Atlético's management would be idiotic to sell off one of their attacking players at the moment.

Re: European Transfer Rumours
Was Reyes's problems also down to his gipsy background, thats why he found it hard to settle down in England? i don't think Henry helped much too.
Manchester is also near Bolton and Liverpool so Torres could chill with Campo, Alonso, García, Arteta or Pique when he comes back from loan.
With £20m Atlético could sign 3 or 4 players.
i just think Torres doesn't interest Milan anymore. but Milan do need another striker and if Torres has a good season, who knows, Torres could be a Milan player next season.

Re: European Transfer Rumours
People are putting too much emphasis on the gipsy factor. It is a result of the Spanish racism towards the gitanos... It is common practise to blaim everything on gitanos and Morrocans..
I just don't think Spanish people cope very well with English culture (unless you are from the North), without a support network in the form of other Spanish players.

Amelia and Sorrentino are both goalkeepers! Amelia is meant to take Dida's place, since Milan have closed all contract talks with him, and sorrentino as a replacement for Kalac, as he is going to be shwon the dorr soon! Hilgauin is rumoured to sort out the goalscoring problems and in today's "la gazzetta dello sport" it says Iaquinta is also on the cards!

No.
I'll just repeat it. Barzagli to Juve in the summer.
Juventus will be promoted by then.
